I'm going to CALIFORNY....

Crossville, TN

HAH! Good Trick, Peggy...we're driving the car!! But you're more than welcome! Jo

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Jo I would sure love too. I think my traveling is on hold this year.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh Peggy, wouldn't it be so much fun???

I think next year we should have the KYRU somewhere closer out here in the west. That way you all could make a great big ole caravan heading west.

pstttt peggy....you can come out and visit me any old time. Don't need to have any formalized gathering to visit little ole me. I will miss seeing you this year.

Lol Donna I would love to see you again. But we would just cry again. lol I will miss seeing you and everybody this year too. Seems odd not to be going. Hopefully next year I will be back on the road again or in the air.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Oh, shoot - how'd I miss that you can't make it to the KYRU, Peggy? Bummer!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Well had to let you know that Jo and Bob arrived here last night about 6pm. They had a nice safe trip. Jo and I sat out on my back patio until after dark just chatting away about everything and Jerry and Bob watched some taped golf tournament and then the Olympics.

Bob has just taken Jo to see the Pacific Ocean, which is only 3 miles from here and will be back in time for our company coming at 1pm.

Will keep you posted after our little RU today.

Ack!!! I have been making this choc. cream pie for 25 years and for the first time, today of all days, Jo's pies are lumpy!!

So no one be shocked to see the two ugliest pies ever today.

(I am so ashamed!!!)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Bet they'll taste just as good, and that is what counts!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

I'd say the people are more important than the palette(sp?). Throw on some extra whipped cream or icecream and no one will notice a thing!

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

Hey, DaisyAvenue I didn't notice any lumps and I sneaked two pieces. The pie sure was good. I had a great time meeting some of Dave's Garden face to face. Thanks SoCal for having us over.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10b)

Aw- thank you, George! SoCal's DH is probably finishing the last of the 2 pies as we speak. LOL

I had such a great time with ya'll.

Thanks, SoCal!! And roadrunner gets a big thanks for getting us motivated to get together!

And Dee & Dick Strever get a big thanks to for my new brugs. Wow. I am changing my name to DaisyBrug now! Watch out. I gotta pod (and had to have that explained to me). This garden isn't for just veggies anymore.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Daisy,

If having a few bumps means a pie is good, that pie was wonderful. Folks, that was no Chocolate pudding pie, that was a real home made chocolate filling and I mean to tell you it was the best I've ever had.....and the crust was homemade too.

This group of DG members were so very, very nice. I had a great time with everyone and they all made this little RU easy and enjoyable. Thank you all for coming and I hope to be seeing you all more often now that we have broken the ice. lol

Jo and Bob left here about 6pm to go on to his sons home for the weekend. They will be returning to Arizona on Monday. I have to tell you that Jo and I had the best visit, she is just a wonderful, and special lady.

We only took a few pictures, and I will start a thread on the RU photos so anyone who took pictures can post them there. Haven't taken the time to download mine yet, but I will tomorrow.

Go here to post any pictures of today. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/451506/

It was tons of fun meeting everyone! Roadrunner - you are just good people - love your "can do" attitude about everything! Don't let Daisy fool you - she mades crust like a pro and Donna has one gorgeous house....thanks everyone for such a lovely time.

OK...here I am at Bob's family...sneaking on Mark's computer. His home overlooks a freeway (71 I think) and a golf course. The view at night is fantastic as he is up on a hill and I could see lights all over the valley.

Now, about that "lumpy" chocolate pie...I thought it had peanut butter in it...and it was GREAT. (Bob ate 2 pieces also).

This was a most fun time....and very little plant trading went on...but DaisyBrug was prevailed upon to "accept" 2 huge potted brugs that Dick was trying to pawn.....err gift.....to someone as he is moving soon.
Donna and Jerry are the best hosts...and I have put them on my list to visit again....and again...and again. LOL (Now watch them move and not give me a forwarding address!)

Thank all of you for a very wonderful day. Jo...and Bob too.
