Does anyone know of a direct link to Paul James on the show "gardening by the yard". I would love to ask him some questions. Thanks Marie
How to reach Paul James Gardening by the yard
What channel does it come on? lol - I don't know, because I never watch those shows.
He's on HGTV on cable and satellite, 11:30 am weekends. He lives in Oklahoma. I dunno how to contact him tho.
Marie, HGTV has scheduled live chats hosted by different people that host HGTV shows. Don't know if Paul James hosts one or not, since I didn't sign up, Here's the link: http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/chats/
darius--- I didn't see him listed on the live chats---- but I just love his show. Down to earth and a "corny" since of humor. I know there is a web address somewhere????? Marie
humblebumble, I looked around for a direct link here http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/shows_gby but couldn't find a place where one could submit a question.
TC...
He lives in Tulsa, OK - you might be able to find a snail mail address for him ;o) (I can say I *knew* him before he hit the big time - not personally, but he had a five minute weekly gardening segment on one of the Tulsa TV stations. He was just as nutty then as he is now...)
We love Paul James, too. They do have a "contact us" form at HGTV's site, and you can specify where you'd like your question to go. Maybe you'll be lucky and he'll get it. :)

Thanks so much "GW"!!!!!
Terry he is a true nut but most gardeners are hahah-- He knows his stuff tho and I just love him. P. Allen Smith (on the weather channel and Good Morning America) lives about 30 minutes from me and I love talking to him because he is so down to earth and SMART when it comes to gardening but now that he has made it BIG you email him and in a month or two you get and answer. I just love P. Allen Smiths gardens--- you talking about some knockout sites--- I hope that Heaven looks like P Allen Smiths yard---well If I get to go to Heaven it really doesn't matter what it looks like..... hahaha Marie
Why not give him a call?

Paul James is awesome....
He really makes our weekend mornings around here
I like P. Allen Smith's accent better. ;~)

What ever happened to Gary Allen ? He had a landscape design type show and I have not seen him all year I think.
He was cute the way every empty space would get Zebra Grass and Lantana stuck in it---- lol
I think Gary was last seen flying over a "Bermuda triangle" of Zebra grass Liriope and Lantana. (He does seem like a one-hit wonder...different house, same landscape week after week. ;o)
LOL @ Terry
Right on, Terry. While I love curves in the garden, I got so tired of his same-ole, same-ole.
Oh Thank you! Thank you so much--- will give him a call--- as soon as I get my nerve up!!!! Oh P Allen does have our southern drawl pretty bad---hahah He is alot cuter in real life than he is on tv and his landscaping around his house is unreal! Truly amazing. As far as Gary Allen- I noticed all the zebra grass--liroipe and lantana--- I figured he had found a wholesaler with an abundance of those three because there were so many times I thought--- now a weeping cherry would be great there instead of the zebra grass!!!! hahah
Terry that was super funny!!!!
Par I owe you thanks so much! marie
Was it Gary Allen or someone else who used "AZTEC" grass everywhere? It was like a running joke, except he was serious. He would draw/scratch a line into the soil, then some real workers would do the job (during the commercial break?). I never could find Aztec grass anywhere, so as you all suggested, maybe he had his own (overstocked) nursery.
That was Gary Allen! My favorite was stomping the end of the shovel so the handle would pop up! Apparently he is from right here in Cincinnati. If his home is really where I am told it is, he obviously spends no time on his own yard. :(
I need enlightened...who in the world is this Gary Allen dude anyway??
TC...
Oh, THIS guy! I remember that show. Howie and I always laughed about how he never got dirty himself.
http://www.garyalan.com/
That's him...he never met a landscape challenge could not be solved with the judicious application of Aztec grass, preferably in big swoops on both sides of the path or driveway... add some liriope for (contrast?)... maybe by now he is using Stella d'oro daylilies with blue fescue grass for (comic?) relief. Add some red barberry and you've got "style"!
that is so funny par--- I am amazed at the landscaping he was asked to do on some "really nice" homes and when he finished the project it was still dull!!!!!!!
I wonder if Mr. Allen's ears have been burnin lately??
TC...
Tc--- I figure his ears burn all the time hahaha! I bought his book and to tell you the truth I was diappointed. I was hoping for more info on plants and he stayed more on design.
I had to laugh when I read this, I used to think the same exact thing when I watched his shows, the gardens all looked exactly alike.
And I didn't know that a gardener's sneakers were THAT white!
No "sweat" equity either......
