Journals, a great way to learn............

Pernis RT, Netherlands(Zone 8a)

When I've got seeds that I don't know much about I do a journal-search for that particular species in the hope that someone else has grown this seed before and I can learn from them.

However it amazes me how few journals are publicly accesible. When I came to Davesgarden this morning I saw that there are now 2.222 members and there are only 83 journals available for viewing.
Since I can't believe that out of all those people they're only 83 of you using such a great feature, I figured that there must be a lot of private journals.
And ofcourse everyone has the right to chose this option.

But I would like to ask people: please let us learn from your journals, we can learn so much of each others successes and failures.
Especially if you've specialised or taken great interest in a particular group of plants, that may be difficult to grow for others who don't have your knowledge.
I do realise that there are forums for propagation questions, but for me they can't beat a day to day account. Wich is just what the journals can offer us.

Sorry, I'll get of my soap-box now...........

Dear Agnes,
I have a big plant collection and I'm putting info on as fast as my little fingers can fly. As soon as enuff is there, I'll open my Journal. I find they are very helpfull, too. Great idea to post. Thanks!

I agree that the journals are a great way to learn about plants. I do hope that more people open their journals for public viewing. I must confess, I have been faithfully keeping my up to date. But come the fall, I will go back and add more notes to it.

Dave has programmed the Journal to be a very powerful and flexible tool. And if you don't understand how to use it, please ask. Someone is always around to help you out. Or send me an email and I'll try to answer your questions.

I am just starting to get a few items into my journal and will eventually get it right,,,I Hope! But what little info is there is open to all. I figure that way if I say I am doing something or trying something and it is wrong that someone might e-mail me the correct way!

I have another journal also an hope that this winter when I am rained indoors I can use the time to move that info here also.
