I've been Ubered!
Congratulations Paul!
Congratulations to Paul and the other new Ubers!
pssst, the technically-correct term is uber-ized. (hehehehe)
Seriously, congratulations are in order for the newest Ubers and a HUGE thanks to all of you for your hard work. I updated everyone's stats and some of the Ubers increased their images, entries and comments by anywhere from 10% to 100%. Wowsers.
I think the "Uber effect" has also helped encourage a lot of new users to share with the Plants Database. When we wrote up the first introduction, we had ~5,000 users, and when I did the update, we're now over 7,000, so we've had more than 2,000 people add stuff to the PDB for the first time in the past 90 days. That's amazingly wonderful!
That is amazing Terry, the Uber idea was a stroke of genius!

Paul, Margie, Xeno and all other Ubers...come to the rescue! Rootdoctor is linguistically out-Ubering me!
I luv the Uber club. Makes me wanna add more stuff to the PDB. Right now though I'm excited! I'm tingly! Why, I'm exUBERant!
(I'm also heading to the house! Been a long day!)
Since it's about midnight your time Shoe, perhaps you should just say, "Uber and out."
heheh...very good, Happenstance!
And now I better go add a few pics to the PDB today. Ya'll care to join me?
Have a great day!
Congratulations, happy 'Ubering' days ahead! Keep up the good work!
What is the criteria for becoming a Uber? I'm curious. I have done a lot of work in the Tall Bearded Iris department, and this made me curious about Ubers and what criteria had to be met to make that status.
So, to satisfy that curiosity, I was looking at everyone's contributions, and it seems as though there's a big difference among the contributions of Ubers. Also, I looked at some other subscribers that aren't Ubers, but have contributed more than some of the Ubers?
Just curious, but not complaining by any means. Just curious about something I noticed.
I'll be taking a look at the contribution stats this week - thanks for the nudge ;o) We do take into consideration all PF activity - number of new entries, images, comments, and details.
When we first created this distinction, we chose the top 20 contributors as the initial group. Their average contribution level became a rough benchmark for those who have been added to the group since. Strangely enough, it's remained pretty easy and intuitive to draw a line between the "ubers" and other contributors, as the contributions tend to have a line of demarcation where they begin to drop off sharply.
Thanks for the explanation Terry. It satisfied my curiosity. :)
Congratulations to our thre new UBER gardeners. The title has been well earned and your contributions here are much appreciated.
Well done! Bravo!! And thanks!!!
Congratulations!!
Judy
Folks, this thread is actually a year old. :)
LOL Funny thing is it is the first time I ran across it! Guess I should watch thos dates more closely!
hah I looked but since I missed it last year, I figgured my wishes would still be good.
S.
Hearty Congratulations to the Ubered-threesome. You deserved the recognition... fully.
Dinu
Dinu... you were the last entry made in 2004 before JoanJ bumped it up with question. You don't get to be last twice... :)
I guess I should have started another thread, rather than bringing this one back up. Sorry.
I hang my head in shame - I just scrolled down and put in my thoughts and posted. Sometimes when in hurry, I tend to do this. After a little while, my memory was vaguely reminding that I had read that thead sometime back. I scrolled up again today. It's good you have pointed out my 'double entry'.
Dinu
No, no shame at all.
I'm sorry I created so much confusion by posting my question to an existing thread.
Isn't it fun to celebrate something special again? And some didn't even know of it the first time, so it's even better... Woo Hoo!!!
Sure beats recycling compost. *giggle*
*HUGS* to Joan for using an existing thread to ask a very thoughtful question and spread happy thoughts in the meantime. :)
Donna
Yeah ..... What Donna said !
Thanks Shirley, for those encouraging words.
JoanJ, never mind. I have taken it in its true perspective.
Ha ha ha, yes, this was better than recycling compost - I'm smiling at the lovely sense of humour.
Dinu :)
Congratulations!!!
