Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

drool! drool!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

your neighbors must like driving by your home and seeing your lilies. ;-)

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Finally, another co-op lily opened this am. Yipee!! This one is Scheheradze or something similar to that and just as unpronouncable!! It is drop dead GORGEOUS!

let me guess - somebody's gonna ask if it stinks, errrrr...is fragrant - darn I forgot the contortionist move and didn't check - beating myself with a rubber stick - will go smell forthwith!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Yesterday the first 'Marco Polo' oriental opened. Today 4 are open. He is guilty of being responsible for my addition to orientals! I have 3 bulbs with over 30 buds between them. And when a few more open, I'll be able to smell them when I step out of the house 30+ ft. away - extremely fragrant!!

Kooger--stunning lilies!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Laura - love them "stinky" orientals!! LOL!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

it doesn't matter where you are in my yard now, you can smell the orientals because they are in all my garden beds. the driveway has the highest concentration at this time and you can smell them in my neighbors yards too. heavenly.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

My neighbors grow grass and evergreens--BORING! I guess they figure one nut in the area is enough...

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

same here. i do give a few flowers to a few neighbors but my gardens are something else. :-) as i'm sure yours are. we just shine and bring good cheer to them. ;-)

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

kooger
Had to wipe the drool and slobber off my face before I could post how lovely those all are.

I have been kicking myself for not getting in on Brenda's coop and now I am kicking myself even harder.

drooling and kicking!!!! Jealousy what an awful thing to live with!!!!

They are absolutely glorious and I am sure you have been really enjoying then.

At the risk of offending all of the true daylily people I am more and more in love with the orientals and asiatics and I think will doing a lot more of them next year than daylilies!
(don't tell any of those daylily people or I will get banned off that forum)
Alice

Drooling and kicking - what a lovely mental image you paint aknapp, lol.
I have not seen Rosepoint Lace in the catalogs, nor Allegro, but will pass on Allegro until it gets more affordable. I think we can beat some of those prices, too......

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Alice, you Traitor! Gotta go now and tell all the Daylily people that you betrayed us for Lilies.... (sneaking off...) LOL

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

Wanda
I knew if anybody was going to catch me saying that it would be you!!!!!
I didn't really mean it! I didn't really mean it! Please don't tell!!!!!!

It was early I just momentarily lost my mind!!!!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

The shadow sees everything...... After being kidnapped by the DesMoines Lily DG people, I too am eyeing the lilies. Iowa Ron , Anahi & Lilyfan--That intense June day of brain-washing worked! I WANT MORE LILES! I WANT MORE LILIES! I WANT MORE LILES!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

You are some piece of work, Wanda, lol

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Working under all that hot sun all summer in the garden tends to mess with your mind. Or maybe it's just menopause hormones going crazy...

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

you go girl! i like your style wanda! :-)

forgot to tell you and alice that you are now showing your far superior taste, now that you are seeing the light of liliums over daylilies. :-) you couldn't help it before you were just, ummmmmmmmmmmmm ignorant????????? ;-)

debi-z I prefer not to categorize my addictions: daylilies, iris, Lilies---I love them all in their seasons. Lilies are spectacular & I'm willing to tear out duplicate clumps of daylilies to make room. The road to perdition is short and straight.
And lined with tall, perfumed Lilies...

kooger - are these still blooming for you? Wow! My lilies are long gone for this season. :-(

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Yup, about half a dozen Marco Polos left. Tom Pouce is almost ready to open.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

kooger--wow! really nice Lilies so late. If Alice doesn't get the numbers for her order, I want to get them any way!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

i really need to focus on some later blooming lilies, to extend my season. i have a few on there last blooms, an aruba, casa blanca and a woodriff's memory. the only one after this will be the 'speciosum'.

the 'marco polo' is so similar to 'aruba', just half as tall, and i love my aruba's.
this is a picture of 'aruba' & 'woodriff's memory' in bloom. 'casa blanca's' are in bud.

Beaooo-o-tiful! How tall are the aruba and how big are the blooms? My tallest Marco Polo is over 5' and the other 2 are just under that. Every year they get a little taller. Wonder what the limit will be? :)

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Okay already, I'm running this thread with the Breck's in front of me and that'll be Silk Road, Scherazade, AND Marco Polo... many thanks Kooger. :>)) Blooms

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

do I get a commission? lol ...only 2 Marco Polo left and they're starting to look raggy. boo hoo! 2 Tom Pouce open but the first is a little odd looking and the 2nd is only partway open - maybe today I can get a pic. :)

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

Kooger what a shame your tom pounce is not looking the way it should, he is really gorgeous and I think my favorite scent out of all of them.

they just need a little patience from me, I think. It's so cool here, barely getting into the 60s that I think they're sulking. Sun. we're supposed to return to the 80s so that should cheer them up. The first bloom is looking better than yesterday, only one crooked petal so I'm forgiving it for that. lol Next year it better shape up tho!!! ha ha! Can't wait till they look like your's Alice!! P.S.I'm still deciding if I can afford a couple of peonies - guess I'm gonna have to make up my mine in a couple of hours!! clock's tickin'...

gr-r-r! spelling again - I really should remember to preview!!

Okay okay... a coupla Tom Pouce on the list now... that's a wowser. I'm a LILY ADDICT Yeah, I really *needed* another addiction. back to watching the hurricane now. Shoulda named him Clyde - they're quite the pair.

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

blooms there is a coop open until tomorrow night and one of the bulbs that is in it is tom pounce, plus a few others that might help satisfy that addiction.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

pouce, ...drop the 'n' :) Just checked the 3 peonies that I have in pots, 'cause I didn't know where to put them, and they all are living, just not putting up any green yet. I think I wanna get those purple tulips in a couple of shades. They're so beautiful. Should have a light colored background for them tho. Hmmm -hafta think on that awhile.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Four of the five Tom Pouce bulbs are now in bloom. One didn't put out any buds. Next year should be gorgeous! I think this is the best one for colour.
