Through the eyes of a child.

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Several have asked for some pictures of my garden here are a few. This is my neighbors granddaughter she loves coming over to play in the garden. She is a great helper, she likes to help re-pot things or pull weeds. Her favorite things are lifting all my rocks to look for worms and of course what trip would it be to a garden without getting to play with the water hose or stick your feet in the water garden. lol It's so much fun to see things through the eyes of a child.

(I do have her mothers permission to post the pictures that's why I have them in the parking lot)

Always the first thing she does is go through the paths and heads to the old wind mill she loves that thing.

Next she is off on an adventure in the jungle. Trying to figure out what to get into next. She loves hiding in the grasses and jumping out at ya.

Oh but mom I don't want to go home I want to stay and play in the jungle. She has gone to the fair now with my DD and her BF and I think she is going to spend the night. So needless to say she won, she didn't have to go home. lol

Needless to say this was a whole lot more fun than digging up ditch lilies. lol She is such a doll and so much fun to visit. It's such a delight to see things through her eyes.

What a delightful afternoon in the jungle! More of us should have small children visit our gardens just to get that special view.

Edited because I forgot to say I love your yard, especially the Jungle!

To see this world through a childs eyes'
To understand the wonder and surprise
of grassy jungles that are there to explore
as they eagerly journey out the door.

To see the beauty in a dandilions bloom
To giggle when an adult enters the room.
To see the fairies that live by the pond
and the pixies under the little fern frond.

These simple joys are ours to hold
if we just remember not to grow old
If we always protect the child inside
where our memories and dreams abide.

Thank you everybody. It was a wonderful afternoon. As I was saving these pictures to post she sat in my lap and typed her name on each one as I saved it. That was great fun. Melissa don't you dare stop posting pics of your garden. Zany the poem is great as always. You have such away of summing things up in a poem I wish I had your talent. I am glad I made everybody feel as good as it made me feel. I am trying to find a spot so she can start her own little garden the next time she comes.

Oh priceless Peggy...No words, just wonderful, special, memorable, fun, etc....I see she likes the same bench as me LOL....And thanks to pictures, you can save the moment forever!

Mystic, they say a picture is worth a thousand words and those picture are worth their weight in gold! So it looks like you do just fine in the talent department! You capture the pure essence of a child on film.
