Things to do on a Gardening Trek

1) Drive, a lot!

Shamefully I look at people's yards and decide where they should put a water garden or water feature.

2) Stop and visit with people along the way (if you are driving back through the Columbus area, please give me a call and we can meet!

Climb a tree when you stop to camp for the night.

And...climb a little higher and scare all of little boys who ride by on their bikes. The kids there didn't know what to think of this grown man climbing a tree.

How in the world did he climb all the way up there and not ever lose that cap? The guy is in amazing condition!!!!

My goodness Lupinelover, if only I woulda had a way of checkin my email before I left...I shore would've loved to have stopped in for a visit with ya! They'll be another opportunity I hope, and I'll be sure to let ya know when I'm comin thru Columbus!

TC - Gardening Trek sounds like a good idea. Where to? Whose gardens? Great campground.
I trek too, and sometimes I stop and photograph people's yard or gardens. Here's a bottle tree garden I happened across near Victorville, Ca.

That's no garden, Blooms.

Here's somethin else to do while on a Gardening Trek - visit old cemeteries.

Oh, yeah! That's Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newark, Ohio. We stopped there on the way to Dawe's. Do you or Carla have a shot of "Little Victims" sculpture?

Now that's one awesome bottle tree garden BWV, and i kinda agree with daisyave too, it is really a bottle tree forest!

One may also take weird photos, and let the Trekker's minds eye see what they may...

Yes, I was trying to figure out what vantage point you'd been at when you shot it. I recognized the patio umbrella, but it looked like you were viewing through the table hole or something. Slowly, it occurred to me it was a reflection on the ice tea. Neat shot!

DCat - I don't know what that "thing" is but I sure wouldn't be getting very close to it.

I love the old cemetary pics. I love reading 'stones and seeing how long (or short) someone lived and the epitaphs that are inscribed. We sure don't put up statues and monuments these days like they did in years gone by. What will be there for future generations to see I wonder?

I just love the bottle tree garden. I can just imagine how beautiful it is when the sun shines through all of those bottles. That is a work of art.

Tigger's lonely...His sister DeeDee snuck out the door almost two weeks ago and has not been seen since. :( He's a bengal cat, and really does have a golden glow - the tips of his hair are gold. He's just gorgeous, and sooo friendly, especially with his best buddy missing. We so hope she turns back up!

I have no clue what that bug is but it does look like a walking stick, Ive never seen one of those either at least that I know of.The kids found this on the beach and we had a flashlight on it so we could get this pic, go figure the kids could find this in the dark on an almost deserted beach but cant seem to find the broom, vacuum cleaner, scrubby brush for the toilet...........lol

TC- I bought that hat on the way to Fla. so I could use it to garden in, LOL, it was great to have at the beach too.

Tigger is probably the most vocal cat I've ever heard. I wish I had a recording of his voice. His mew doesn't compare to any other mewings (is "mewings" a word?). I wonder if you could get a digital recording of his mew and post it up on your Website gw? Just a thought...
