YANKEE DOODLE DANDIES!!

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

This day has a special day in my heart. Besides being the birthday of this beloved country, it would have been my father's 101st birthday and it would have been my late husband's 77th birthday. You can imagine the wonderful celebrations we had! So today, even though I will be alone, I have a treasure chest of memories to keep me company, pets to share my life, plants to give me beauty and DG to bring the world to me. I count my blessings every day and am forever grateful that I have lived my life in this amazing country.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

hi Pati,
I too was touched by your words.

As soon as I read it, I closed the thread, got off the computer and thought "I'm going to look for something nice to take a picture of for Pati"...whelp, a stroll through the yard gave me an idea of red, white and blue (sort of blue) flowers.

Don't attempt to do this with a six year old, they will ask a billion questions and then debate the fact that the blue flowers aren't really blue..lol.

So, here miss pati, this is for you along with a hug across the miles..

you are never alone.

Thank you all for your sweet words, and for sharing my special day.

I am so touched by the picture. What a beautiful composition! This will go into my "forever file" as the perfect 4th of July picture.

How we love the shades of blue,
The sky, the sea, and flowers too.
Our flag's deep blue is bright and bold,
It represents our nation's soul.

Lisa--- what a beautiful arrangement! Pati--- your words also made me speechless---which is a rarity. hahah You know we have so much to be thankful for---that others just dream of one day. I bet the celebrations for your father and late husband were always a big BANG! I have a son over in Iraq making sure we keep these benefits, so keep him in your prayers. Marie
