I use paper envelopes-so that there is not a moisture build-up; just in case

I use paper envelopes, too, for the same reason that Marcia does. After all, most seeds that you buy are in paper envelopes. I keep most of my seeds in their envelopes in a metal tin in the dining room cabinet.

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

I usually use small brown paper bags to collect in, use a marker to write down genus, species, cultivar, collection year. Then I usually fold them over and will staple several bags together and then put in my basement to dry for the remainder of the summer. Then I start cleaning them and package them up into individual trade envelopes made of paper. I keep all the packaged ones then in a airtight container in the fridge.

This sight has good collecting, storing and seed ID and germination info.

I like paper also, unless you know that your seeds are really well-dried.

REDROSE, Hollyhocks are usually biennial, so you might want to plant the seeds this year, then they will flower next summer for you!
