To all our American Members: Happy 4th of July from North of the Border !!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great evening of fine food and fireworks !!
Happy 4th of July to you all !!!!!!!!!!
AprilHillside... Thanks for the wishes from over the border.
Makes me think of a funny prank from my younger days. I was about 20, and we had an engineer from England working with us. Nearing this big holiday, I asked him if they had the 4th of July in England... and of course, he replied "no". So I asked him if they just went from the 3rd to the 5th... LOL.
Thank you so much for the good wishes. My DH and I got back a few hours ago from the Fireworks show in Sulphur Springs. Due to all the rain we've had recently, they cancelled ours.
Anyway, thanks again. I'm not familiar with your Holidays, but I'm always interested in other places. What do ya'll (Sorry...I'm Texan) celebrate?
Jennifer
July 1st. Canada Day, formerly Dominion Day. Canada became a nation in 1867 - easy to remember USA's day now since I live on this side of the border the past 27 yrs. - just take off a yr., 17, and switch the last two around, 76; makes 1776. Many border towns celebrate together because of the dates being so close. I think that is cool!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!
From Terri in UK
What a great thread! It is kind of those of you in other nations to celebrate this occasion with us. An Evert, flying our flag today is a very sweet gesture. It sure looks nice on that pole of yours.
