Trip to Wildseed Farms

Woodville, TX(Zone 8a)

Took off last weekend to Fredricksburg to pick up some peaches. As usual the first stop was Wildseed Farms. Beautiful field of zinnias.

Bought a dynamite crape myrtle. It's red. the one in the picture was a larger version of what I bought. If only I could have gotten the large one in the car????

Then I found the largest hibiscus (bloom) I have ever seen. It was almost a foot across! Of course I had to get one of these "Moy Grande" hibiscus.

Looks like you had a great day buying beautiful plants. You didn't say if you ever got the peaches!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

No way that Hibiscus fit in a car LOL

Blooms that was the display, mine is half that size. Yes we got the peaches (2 and a half bushels so you know what I did all day the next day). Nothing could go in the trunk because of the heat. I had a huge brug laying sideways in the back seat, and a hibiscus and crape myrtle behind on the floor board. So the peaches were in boxes wedged inbetween. I told my better half that is what he gets for going to sleep while I looked. He took a nap on a bench in the shade. HA!

Wow, sounds like a great day! Howie would have been doing the same thing, napping...Only in the van, with the TV on. ;)

Yes, it was a very good day. Usually this time of year we are glued to the house because of hay. We either have a field to cut, fluff, rake or bale. But because of our rain we decided to take off and get out of it for a day (and having fresh peaches in the middle of winter isn't too bad either even though it took me one whole day to put them up). Just noticed that since we were there last Friday that part of Texas has been getting the rain. We are hoping it is finally ended here and we can get some hay baled. If not we will be selling cows come winter.
