Love in the mist colors?

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I have a flower that looks like LITM but- it is white. I thought they only came in purple?
Does anyone have a picture they can share so i can I.D this flower? Thank you so much!

The pdb says that the most common colors are white and blue. so maybe that is what you have. http://plantsdatabase.com/go/19/index.html

hey, you get those crepe myrtle seeds?

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ohh yes and I forgot to tell you!
I had trouble finding the seeds,LOL. I think I got them out- I started soaking them and will plant them when I get home from work.

Wasnt thinking when I told you I'd send you a Bonsai in trade for them. It would take a couple years to make a halfway decent Bonsai from seed! LOL

So what do you want to do?! We can wait,LOL- or I can find some stuff around here to send you- or I can just send you the shipping back. -I'll still send you a bonsai later too though.-

Let me know!

They come in at least pink, blue, and white. The "Persian Jewels" selection has all three colors.

No no, dont worry about the trade. haha I can wait for the bonsai if either of us even remember in a couple years...:) either way its fine.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I will forget! LOL
I'll look around here- My boss will probably give me a cutting and I can send you a Mame with a little ceramic pot. Very cool little things!

Thanks Kelli!!! The seedpod is HUGE,lol.

Thank you- that's my flower. Mines really pityful though! LOL

They don't like the heat. Mine have been done for probably a month and it hasn't really been all that hot - hardly ever over 85F yet.

Thank you kelly- I'll remember that for next year.

crim-I have the white ones occur sometimes within a patch of the blue ones-I'm thinking they may be like hydrangeas-maybe the compostion of the soil-acidic or alkaline can affect them. What do you think?

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

LGW- I really dont know- this is my first year having them. Maybe your white ones are volunteers?

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi CT -- the ones Blooms sent pics of were self-seeded from Persian Jewels, which were actually four colors: pink, white, light blue, and medium-deep blue... the repeat seeders were only white and blue. I think frogsRus said the same thing happened to her in San Diego as well.

LGW, I do not think it is acidity-alkalinity, as the garden was the same both years, no 'Miracid' or any other particular improvement! (Strongly alkaline soil and water here.) I think just a matter of the hybrid/cultivar reverting to the species or at least something closer to the species.

Fortunately, I wasn't counting on the pink, in fact they were planted in the "Blue Garden"! This year, I harvested all the white ones as soon as the petals drooped and only let the blue ones go to seed... hoping that any volunteers next year will favor the blue...
~'spin!~

You are probably right, Crystal. I love the blue ones so much-I hate to say I'm a blue flower fanatic-I hate to see them go to seed they're such cute whiskery little flowers. Thanks for your advice.
