I really like you cane type begonia with silvery leaves. I have about 40 different begonias. I don't have that one. I have 2 different types of cane type begonias already rooted. I also have a strawberry begonia started and a lots if rex begonias. Would you like to do a trade?
rcn48 Your fireworks begonia is beautiful also.
Kathy
Daisy you have an impressive collection of begonias!!! I really like the look of Carolinafolia and the Cowardly Lion. Haven't seen those around here.
:) Donna
I second Kathy, rcn48! That 'Fireworks' of yours comes by its name honestly--smashing! =D
kathyvm,
Send me photos of you cane begonias. Always up for a trade to add something new to my collection.
Thanks,
Daisy
Ok Daisy, now I'm in trouble :) Even though I haven't been really satisfied with Logee's, I ordered five new Rexes yesterday! I figure it wasn't their fault before that I didn't take care of them properly and they're just too hard to resist.
Thanks for the compliments on Fireworks - unfortunately I don't have it anymore - that was a picture from two years ago and it WAS beautiful!
kathyvm,
Nice photo of Sophie Cecil. I just got a very large plant from my mother a couple of weeks ago. I have had her before but lost her.
Thanks for the photo
Debra,
Ohhh. I hope you get some healthy nice size plants this time. I have never been impressed with Logee's plants. They send tiny tiny plants for too much money. I purchased my first brugmansia from them and it was DOA. They replaced it right away with a 2 inch tall peaches and cream brugmansia that never grew and rotted during the winter since it was so small. Needless to say I never and will never spend my money with them again no matter how nice the photos are.
Wish you the best of luck in what they ship you. :-)
Daisy
Daisy you are absolutely right. they have beautiful plants/flowers in those catalogs, but for the money, there is very little value. I bought Hib. Edna Boegert from them, died, they replaced but replacement is sickly also. Compared to other trop. hibiscus I've gotten at HD and other less select places, they are doing very poorly.
Unless I become a geranium nut, I probably won't buy from them again.
Daisy and vossner, I agree with everything you said about Logees - but I'm going to give them one more try. I just couldn't help myself! I emailed them with a question about a cultivar that was out of stock before ordering and received a prompt response from Margaret in their Customer Service Department. We emailed back and forth several times before placing my order. There was one Rex that wasn't showing up on their website that I wanted to order so I picked up the telephone after placing my order and Margaret was the one who answered the phone! Very pleasant woman and extremely helpful. So maybe this time I'll have better luck. I'll let you know how the plants look when they arrive.
I forgot that I wanted to post a pic of 'Connie Boswell'. Took this photo in the greenhouse at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, VA last spring and have been searching for it to buy ever since. Logee's informed me that 'Connie Boswell' is a cross of Rex and Begonia diadema (sp?) and they had eight in stock so I added it to my order and will try it to see if it is indeed the plant I've been searching for.
Enjoy your purchase as I'm sure you know what is best for you. I think our comments were not made to discourage anybody from buying from Logees, but rather to be more aware that Logees understands the value of good customer service and they make sure it's reflected in the price. LOL
Also, my experience may be in the minority. I contacted a lady that had purchase the same hibiscus from them (before I bought mine), and she sent me a pix. After 3 years the thing was monstrous!

Daisy & Voss--I'm with you on Logee's! LOVELY catalogue & site.....get me every time. BUT, for the money.........the size and sickliness of the plants makes it a waste. I hate it, but I'm trying to buy elsewhere now........not worth it. Finally broke down and bought variegated 'Prince Rupert' geranium from them........and well, you can guess where it is............garbage..............dang it anyway. =(
Wonderful collection ! I am really enjoying everyones pictures ! Thanks for sharing ! Allison
Hi there flowerjunkie. I noticed that you have a BU434 begonia which I think is beautiful. I too purchased 2 cuttings about one year ago which rooted and were doing good for about 6 months. Last summer I lost one to over watering. I have one left but it is not doing very well. If it dries out(not too often) it instanstly droops but revives when it gets watered. The leaves dry out sometimes before they mature. I have put it in sun and indirect sun indoors but it is not looking good. Is yours still alive and do you have any tips on keeping beautiful begonia healthy?
Lis
