Bush Question

I have a bush on the side of my house that has small white flowers on it that resemble lilacs, and smell a bit like lilacs, but they have been blooming for a long while, at least 3 weeks. Does anybody know if there is a lilac like this?

Could it be buddleia, butterfly bush? I think all lilacs are done by now.

I don't think so, as I have one of those and this does not grow in the same way. My butterfly bush has long cone shaped flowers made up of many little ones and dies off at the end of the year and needs to be cut back and grows fresh each year. This is more of a hardwood, is the best way I can describe it and has flowers that grow more like lilacs. in drooping clusters, but they are quite a bit smaller than my lilacs. My digital camera is in the shop or I would take a picture and post it. When I get it back I will do that.
