Can we have...

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I've been working on getting some of our native trees added to the PDB and see a need for an addition.

Can the checkbox that has the 'attractive to birds, insects and butterflies' be added to ?

I'd like to have the option to state that wildlife relies on the fruits for food.

I know that adding another checkbox is aggrivating, but just adding to the description would let us include the option when describing things such as acorns, pecans, hickories, native berries and the like.

Deer, rabbits, squirrels, bears and other animals forage for such foods and the 'mast' that collects on the forest floor each fall is a large part of their diets.

What do you think? Would this help?

It's a bit of a tough one really because it really depends on whether you have that wildlife in your region :) It's no good me growing something that hummingbirds like, but it might be useful to a butterfly species that dwells here.

How about changing it to something like 'May be useful to wildlife' and then using the comments boxes to state which part is useful and to what?

That makes sense. I was just wanting something to let readers know that wildlife other than just birds and insects use the plant. Bears like acorns, but we haven't seen a bear in these parts for about 200 years.

The thing is, not many plants are used by one creature exclusively. Many animals will rely on a certian species. Even the plants that hummers favor will be used by other creatures.
