Thanks for the info Kelli! Its just that these cedar shrubs were planted circa 1960 and totally neglected for five years. I was trying to do the "bonsai" look, by selectively pruning the bottom branches...then...ugh, my son was "helping" me, and sawed through the main trunk! They were on each side of my driveway entrance! Needless to say, they had to go. I may put two spiral junipers (the tall upright shrub things) back at the end of the drive way. But, man oh man - THOSE HUGE ROOTS! It would have totally destroyed my driveway to doze them out! Maybe I will win the lottery someday, then I will really do things like I want to..... :)

I like it, esp. the wide fascia and rake!
WoW cici, super duper potential there. We did a kitchen re-do some years ago where we cooked on the gas grill and dined on the outdoor picnic table all summer as well as working into the wee hours after long days on the "real" job. The rewards for the patience and persistence are mighty indeed...hang in there. LOVE the sculptured roof shingles!
