Finding an old Friend....

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

We've been searching for an old friend for quite some time now...its been about six years since we've had contact, and we think of her often and really miss her. She'd just been divorced, and probaly moved away from the home she shared with her husband. Her kids are adults now, so going thru colleges dosen't work. All we know is that she has a computer (before we had one!) and she is a RN who was working in Quakertown, Pa. No listings for her. Tried nurse's registries, and all we get are sites for newsletters, ect. DG has often been my best resource for advice....so, any ideas - and thanks!! Frank

Now she's signing my name. DW wrote that. It's accurate. She asked me to post something to this effect. A friend of ours pointed out, "If she's gone Amish, you'll never find her" I hope she has because then at least she is safe. Frank-the guy in Northport, not his wife.

Frank, try anywho.com, it would look someone up by name, try both married and maiden name, also if you knew her childrens names, hope this site helps. Its helped me find some military friends.

It seems anywho want money. Tried a yahoo search,NG. I really just need to find a free white pages phone directory.

http://www.switchboard.com is free, both white pages and yellow for businesses.

Have you tried just putting her name(s) in the Google search box? Try it with your own name... it's amazing what information is online.

Thanks darius and someradiantpig. DW called info and got hubbys #. He said she was in Kennebunk. Hours later(Here comes the phone bill) DW had talked to both parties. It's wierd. She hated his drinking. He quit drinking 5 yrs ago. They have a son and daughter. Son lives w/dad, daughter and grand daughter w/mom. Tonight was first time I spoke to either in 15 yrs. Don't forget, Life is what happens when you are making plans. Frank

I'm so glad that you found your friend again and I can emagine that your friend was pleasantly surprised to be in contact with you again. Occasionally we get a surprise call or a note from somebody we haven't heard from in years or call somebody who has been out of our lives but on our mind. Sometimes we just pick up the friendship right where it left off as if there had been no interruption at all.
