Wellsweep herb farm charged me 37.00 shipping charges on a box that said l5.00 to ship, that's outragious highway robbery. I won't order from them again, should have asked about the shipping charges. I guess.
venting.
Dang! That seems ridiculous. I hate shipping charges too. I ended up paying 4 bucks for a 10 cent seed packet I won off ebay...
Hi, Can the postal service do anything about that or the Better Business Bureau-that is outrageous.
i'm not sure < I don't think the p.o. can help me, but I'm calling wellsweep monday and complaining to them, and if they don't fix it, i'm going to tell them i'm putting a comment in the watchdog about their rediculously high shipping charges.
hope that helps get me some money back.
kathy
That's just wrong! If it said 15...I would be insisting on a refund. You go girl!
edit: If you paid by credit card, you can ask the (credit card) company to recall the payment. Perhaps you can use this as leverage to get your refund.

Unfortunately, those companies call it "shipping & handling". The "handling" fee is where they are making tons of profit by having an employee box up the stuff to send it. By charging THAT much - they will find people won't order from them again, and as you have Kathy, tell their friends about it, and will probably put themselves out of business. What they are doing isn't against the law, but it is most definitely pathetic.
your right karrie, I may not be able to get a refund, but they'll know I won't be back and that i'm posting about them in teh gardenweb. which is all I may be able to do.
kathy
kathy did you pay with paypal? or a credit card you might can go through them to get your money back. explain you paid this much and it only cost this much they might help you get the excess charged back paypal will I have done this with high shipping through ebay also ebay has a strict policy about excessively high shipping charges, and might can persuade them to pay you back.
You got hosed.
Make sure and comment on it in the Garden Watchdog.

It won't help you, but it will help others.
I don't bemoan a company to charge a little upcharge on shipping something to me, but they REALLY got you! Did they advertise these shipping charges ahead of time?
NO gardenwife, and I was stupid and never asked what the shipping charges were going to be either. The box was heavy but, i never asked what the shipping charges were going to be either. i'll be calling them today, I'll post back here what they say.
kathy
I just called them, unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it, it was their fee for packaging the product. I am going to post on the gardenwatchdog about them if someone would show me the process, I went there and couldn't figure how to post about something.
I'm thoroughly discusted with these folks, that's highway robbery. apparently they make a ton of money doing this, and they are a mail order so I'm sure one lost customer won't hurt their business unfortunately.

Kathy, click on BuriedTreasures' link above. It'll take you right to the company you're dealing with. Then scroll to the bottom and you'll see a few narrow boxes - one of these is 'add your own comment and rating for this company', etc. click on it and continue. Hope this helps!
you should have let them know you know over 100,000 gardeners and one simple post can make a difference!
