A word of caution...(please read!)

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

For those of you who are new to DG (and those of us who have been here a while, but have a short/non-existent memory (like me!) *grin*)...

I'm seeing some threads that are veering over into the realm of current events and the inevitable political issues that ensue.

I'll defer to Dave's discretion to handle the current threads on gas prices and prescription drugs, but please remember we don't allow discussions of a political nature. Any new ones that crop up will be nipped in the bud.

It's fine to share information such as how-to help maneuver through the Medicare maze (for example), but to get on your soapbox about the politics behind the regulations or the special interest groups that exert pressure on the political process is not okay (it doesn't matter which way you lean, political discussons are simply off-limits.)

Why is that, you may be asking yourself. After all, who better to chat with about these important issues than your DG friends? Unfortunately, we've got a lot of first-hand experience that has led us to conclude politics absolutely don't belong in the garden.

No matter how logical or reasonable you believe your position to be, there will be others whose position is the exact opposite of yours - and they also believe their stance to be supremely logical and reasonable.

So - with apologies to Jerry Maguire - please help me (to) help you...and we'll be able to keep gardening together in relative peace ;o)

My apoligies and Thanks.

Dravencat, no need to apologize - I just wanted to get out in front of this issue before it got out of hand. We really do try hard to make the guidelines clear-cut and fair to all, and sometimes we all just need a little reminder (myself included!)

Oops, I claim CRS here, you can take my comments off the medicare thread if you want to.

If you don't mind terribly, would y'all please edit your own comments? (I could do it, but I've got some PDB things I'm trying to take care of this morning. And it's always a little dicey to try to edit someone else's words the same way they would ;o)

I fixed mine.....

At my house we called this "table rules" (as in dinner table). NO politics or religion to be discussed because my family is opinionated, argumentative, hardheaded, hot tempered and there was always a strong possibility it would end in a food fight! LOL
