is there anyway to get rid of morning glories?
they are taking over my garden!
morning glories
If you really don't want them anymore, don't let any of the blossoms bloom (they re-seed easily) and start pulling them up and toss them in the garbage. You'll have to be persistent at first, if they are that invasive for you, but eventually you'll get them all. That's the best I can think of, without using weed killer on them, and effecting the soil for future use.
I feel for you Dizz. I have been fighting wild MG's for years and have found that if you can find their roots and pull it out, that will end that one vine but if you only break off the vine where you see it, it will grow back. And of course I have never gotten them all, as they are back year after year.LOL
I just read about "solarizing", where you dig a trench around the area you want to kill all the weeds, plants, etc..... then lay clear plastic over it. Then backfill the trench with the dirt, water, and let sit for like 8 weeks in the sun. It also says, however, to contact your local extension office in regards to this, to see if it is recommended in your area.
