And, yes, I have been busy. I've been spending the last three weeks cleaning up my property and our sunroom so that it looks great when clients come to see me.
Also, I'll be getting my package out tomorrow. Sorry to be so late.
Cathy, Glad you liked your box...I was worried...was afraid you might be outta town or something and the box was baking in that HOT N.M. Sun....Thanks for posting
Hope you enjoy them all
Carol
dixiechick, I'm so glad you like your plants that I sent.
I really worried over this-since I did not have any plants that were on your want list-I feel better now.
The Amaryallis is 'Red Dance'-I think you had it as red dawn-my writting is not too good with this broke hand.
Hope you enjoy growing your plants.

Thank You Bobbie Billings from the West Coast!
Oh Boy! My little one is already putting on his gardening gloves! If you can picture this: he's got on Scooby Doo underwear and mismatched gardening gloves!
The mailman never gets here in the morning unless there is a box and he's not the regular guy! So ding-dong everybody including the cat runs for the front door.
First, let me say "Thank You" but why did you send it EXPRESS! My goodness, you sent plants and an arm and a leg! The boy has already claimed the beautiful windchimes. He hasn't seen the bee plant marker which he will stake claim too as soon as he does.
Bobbie also sent the following well described plants (thank you again, I need all the help I can get) :
Double Purple Columbine- great for my perennial bed under the sycamore tree.
PiggyBack Plant - new home will be in a pot near my new patio.
Echinacea purpurea - I'm adding this one to the drift of coneflowers I'm establishing
White Trillium - definitely going under the silver maple with my wildflowers
and Orange Hawkeye- very intriguing. There's a few places I could put this one- is it a butterfly attractor?
Thank you again! This has been the best swap I've ever participated in.
Thank you poppysue for organizing a great swap.
Sheila

Thank you so much for the lovely box of plants! I know right where I am going to put all of them. Thanks again! Sandy
Yes! Yes! Yes! My secret trade was in the mail this evening. And to think it sat in the mailbox for over an hour while we finished baling hay! But what treasure did I find? A beautifully wrapped gift box of (the smell of the candle was delightful as I opened the box) gardening gloves, a beautiful decorative stake for the garden, and joy joy a precious birdhouse (how did my secret trader know I love them so?). Then the lovely plants which were so carefully wrapped, labeled, and included suggestions about use. Campanula, freesia, evening primrose (yellow), shasta daisy, redbeckia, and salvia. The only one of these that I already had was salvia, but mine is different. WOW! But I don't know who my trader is (reveal yourself) but I do know they are from Virginia and last name of Reynolds...Could it be Gardengirl? Now I have my plants getting a good drink so I need to plan where I'm putting all of my loot. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Secret Trader. This was great! Jenny
Jenny... do as i did, look at the originating town and state of the box u rcvd. then the process of illimination. i did not know who my secret trader either... now i know!!!
TY, TY, TY MaParker =) my secret trade came today. no need to worry about small packages, quantity did not matter but the quality and the goodness of the heart that shared! i do appreciate the time and effort it took u to carefully and neatly packaged everything. contents of the package is in good order. plants were all intact and fresh like u live next door to me.
i know some of Y'All are eager to know what i got. Purple Coneflower [just perfect contrast to the pink coneflower i grow in the yard]. love the Chameleon plant, one i have been longing to have for sometime ;)! the others i have to check as i am not familiar with them: Coral Bells, Obedient plant, clustered bellflower. of course Lori also has contributed to my new addiction ... Hosta 'Aureo Marginata' and Hosta 'August Moon' and Daylily 'Eenie Weenie' !!!
am off to look them up now. Thanks a million Lori!!! thank you for sharing the bountiful content of ur garden!
Shiela,
You did great with the zones. I have areas of my yard that are close to 6 but I use 4 to be conservative. Theres a few things that wont grow for me but everyone seems to have a few of those.
The shovel was a really special touch, I live near the coast so my daughter was into the lighthouse. and Im impressed that you included your son in the secret trade. I spent part of the afternoon going through the garden with my 4 year old and talking about plants and flowers. Thankyou PoppySue for organizing this! Theres a secret hosta going on in case anybody is interested.
Greta

Lou, (Dispacher 1) Yes, I did rec. my box, last Monday. I have been working late hours & driving an hour each way. I have been so tired that I drop into bed at night. This was the 1st chance to get to my computer.
Thankyou for such a nice package.
I sent you out a card by mail but guess you didn't get it yet!
All arrived in great shape & is already in the ground. Tues. AM. I made a special little bed for my new plants, it's my "Gardening Buddies" garden. I loved the rock you put in it is very pretty. Nice paint job! I had joked with the mail lady that I had thought you sent a "whole rock garden" buy the weight, it was funny when I got home & opened it, there WAS a rock in there! LOL!
You sent a very nice selection, Coleus, Toad lily (which I really wanted!) Sweet Woodruff, Lamium, Agertum, English Daisy (I love these!) Purple Cone flower, Larkspur, Red Salvia, & bog Forget-Me-Nots. (Tell me about the Forget-me-nots, I am not familiar with bog ones, are they much different than the reg. garden ones?) And the prettiest hand painted rock!
Thankyou for such a nice box.
Sheila, I'm glad you liked the box. Yes, the butterflies seem to like the Hawkeye. I move it here & there in my yard as it spreads. It is easy to move. (Still looking for the Yellow!)
This has been great fun!
And thankyou Poppysue for hosting it.
Bj
Jenny - Yes it is me! I'm glad everything arrived ok and you like everything! I couldn't resist the birdhouse - I bought two for myself! I had so many different things I wanted to send - I can't wait to do this again! Happy gardening everyone! Jeannine
Ruby42,
I know you may have been wondering about the plants. They arrived. I have not even looked at them yet. I just got home from the hospital, I had a major surgery. My mom opened the box and took care of the plants for me while I was in the hospital. If I can gain some strength, I will walk out to my porch and look at the plants. Thank you for the nice plants!!!! Take Care!! :)
MGSRC!!! I hope youre ok! Take it easy and hopeyou feel better soon! Greta
Jeannine, I just came in for lunch (been outside working in the yard) and wanted to let you know that all my plants you sent are looking great; not one is drooping. Of course we had a little shower a few minutes ago so that gave them a little respite from the heat. They all just fit perfectly in empty spaces. Thanks again, I love them all! Jenny
I sure hope you are feeling better soon MGSRC!!!!!
I am sure your mom took good care of them but if there are any that do not survive let me know and I will send you another box!!!
sue
Santacltr2,
The plant you can't id is "Petasites Japonica Variegata" aka Variegated Butter Bur. Grows well in your zone in part or full shade. You will love it as a 2 foot ground cover. It will spread, but its wonderful for trading annnddd as if it needed it...it bloooms too. A real attention getter. Sorry I hadn't check here soon. If you have to move....go right ahead...you really can't kill this plant.
Daisy
To USMMOM....Your wonderful plants arrived this morning, they probably would have arrived yesterday, had it not been a national day of mourning because of the passing of our wonderful past president Ronald Reagan....

My package went out Saturday. I got a confirmation number but don't have it one me at the moment.
Hope you like it Secrete Tradee!
kokopelli
Kokopelli - I received my wonderful box full of beauties today! I spent my evening getting to know my new plants, giving them a nice long drink before potting them up. I am creating a new bed tomorrow and most will make their new home there. They are in fabulous shape and they are all new plants for us, no duplicates of what we have! Lemon color daylily, orange daylily, Lemon Thyme, Red Hot Poker and Zebra Grass! Thank you for your generosity and great packaging. And sent from my favorite state, New Mexico!
I recieved my wonderful box last Saturday! It was full of surprises and all things I did not have.
I received naked ladies, bearded Iris "Northward Ho", white Siberian Iris, Southern Shield Fern, purple Louisiana Iris, Janpanese Anenome and Cypress Vine (I think).
I got them all planted right away and all are looking great. Thanks for the plant labels, they really help.
Thank you Pins2006! You did such a great job packing them up for the journey to Iowa.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!
Lori
Gretagreta -- I got your package last night. Wow -- what an assortment of plants -- too many too list (19 different ones)! Most that I don't have yet. They were in that box for a week -- sitting on the front porch -- but at least they were shaded.
I guess you never got the e-mail from poppysue to mail after the 13th since I was away. Most of them look like they will pull through.
:)THANKS SO MUCH -- you are a doll!
Oh allysum!!!! I am so disapointed! I really wanted it to be special. I didnt know you were going away. They must look like wrotten salad! Which ones are gonna make it and which ones arent? Id be happy to resend the ones that are dead or dying. Sheesh! I packed it so tight they must have been really miserable. The mystery iris has a creamy yellow top and a purple zebra striped bottom. Mine just bloomed so now I know! Hugs, Greta
Im especially curious to know if the ornamental oregano Kent Beauty was a survivor.
DARN!!! That looked like alot of fun! I'm in for next time!
Greta, Actually -- like I said most of the plants really did well -- and the 'Kent Beauty' looked great. I was so thrilled to get an ornamental version of oregano. The regular oregano plant likes to take over lawns here so I have always steered clear of it. Is this one used in cooking as well?
The only two that were gonners were the thyme and rosemary -- but no need to replace those, it isn't worth the cost of postage. The astilbe were a bit crispy -- but I am sure they will pull through no problem, the roots looked nice and healthy -- I planted a bunch of those last year bare root and they up nicely.
Thanks again!

Lori, I'm glad they made it in such good shape. This was a fun one to do.
No its not culinary. Its best in a trailing environment and makes very pretty pink flowers. Likes well drained sunny soil. Sorry things got so wilty.
