Secret Plant Trade
Mine went out today. I got lucky in that my favorite local nursery had a few deals going with their perennials. One was mentioned in her wishlist post and a few others should be hardy enough for her area and in the colors she liked. Then I included a few things from my garden. I hope she likes it...

Cajun,
Yes you did send me balloon flowers. I am sorry I forgot them.
I'm getting worried. I sent mine out a week ago priority mail and have not heard they were received yet. Probably cooked by now if not yet delivered. OH MY!! Lou
dispatcher, did you have delivery confirmation on your package?
if so, you can go to http://usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm?from=home&page=0035trackandconfirm
(should work, but if not, just go to www.usps.com and click on 'track and confirm' )
and see if your package has been delivered or not :)
i hope your trader has just been too busy to post that she received it, and it's not *REALLY* lost in the mail!
Kim
I haven't heard that mine were received yet either. I sent them priority on the 3rd. I didn't get a confirmation number for mine darnit. Last time I will do that.
if you print your priority labels (with or without postage included) from the usps website you get delivery confirmation freeeeee!
I need to start doing that. Thanks for the advice Kim.
:^)))
Molly

All the plants arrived nicely. I am sure I left something out, but dont worry I loved it too! Ok now the rest of the story.... I am so sorry I don't know who to thank. hee, hee! There wasn't a note in the pkg and I had just came back on a three day 8 states or more trip! The day before I left I was diagnosed with strep throat. LOL. I came home with my mother(whom was also under the weather). My 15 yr old nephew which included everything a 15 yr old needs for the summer! Definately not suvior material! So somewhere in the kaos I mis placed the box with the name and addy. I do remember your name started with an S. So Thank you! Thank you! Thankyou! S for such lovely new additions!
Cathy

Thankyou FRIEND!! Love Greta
u're very welcome Moretz. if u have question/s on the other plants not mentioned, click on my name and send me an email. will be more than glad to help.
wow, LSP!
i dont know how your box *EVER* managed to make such a *LOOOOOOONG* trip so quickly!!
lol
i loved it!
it's really probably a good thing it didnt have far to go, though
since the bottom was falling out (darn postal service) when it got to my door
..i just laid it down on it's side and ripped it open
now that i think about it i probably should have taken a picture of your wonderful packing job!
i was pondering what you could have sent from the sonic ..
was hoping for maybe some tater tots with cheese... :P
so many wonderful plants, i will have to get them out into the yard and inventory them all before i can post my list!
and the coleus cuttings!
such *HUGE* leaves on those coleus
i do hope they root! (i dont see why they wouldn't, though.. since coleus are so easy to root)
any idea what kind of sweet potato vine this is?
i'm just curious, not like it's a need to know thing...
i've got an unidentified one already.. but this one's slightly different looking (the young leaves on mine are purplish) so it's not like i'm worried they're the same thing.. but even if they were, that would still be great!
yay!
i'm so happy to have gotten my box...
it's funny, too.. because just yesterday when i was making out my little database of people who've gotten they're boxes and people who've sent boxes, and icame to your name i was like "i just KNOW that she's not my trader, she lives so close! that would be so funny, though.. if she were!"
and go figure.. you were!! lol
ok.. now i'm off to go put some rooting hormone on my cuttings and put 'em in dirt... and get the rest of the stuff outside for some sun after such a LONG stay in that box!
*giggles*
thanks so much!
Kim
Kim,
I learned something about coleus propogating by accident. I put the coleus clippings in 3" pots of potting soil. They were depressed. We took plants to the TNRU in a roughneck bin, with the lid on. I misted plants for 3 days before the swap. But they were in the van, with a lid on for over 24 hours. The coleus found that time to root out and quit being depressed. (some seedlings also sprouted in other pots during that time, seedlings of what? duh, I dunno)
An accidental success and learning experience for me.
I just wanted to share.
:^)))
Molly
wow!
a wonderful looking feverfew (you read about my migraines!), hibiscus, guava tree, and i've been looking for a lemon verbena! they smell so great! and the sweet potato vine & those coleus cuttings are great, too.. i've recently discovered coleus and i think it's going to potentially become an addiction.. lol... my mom's (sundry) eyes lit up when she saw the hibiscus... she's a hibiscus person (i love them, too.. but she has a greater appreciation for them than i do!) such beautiful, healthy plants!
i love the plant tag on the guava tree.. that's a neat idea
i might replace the wire with a cable tie (to keep from cutting into the tree) but i'm definitely keeping that tag :)
thanks again for all of the great plants.. i cant wait to do another trade with you :)
Kim
i almost forgot to mention the cute little basket, the really pretty candle/can, the really nice card with the little angel pin.. and the triple yellow datura seeds.. along with the really great guava tree information from the pdb!!!
cant believe that almost slipped my mind!
i'm going to go put some of these seeds soaking right now! lol
i'll take a pic of everything in a little while and post it :)

I got mine, I THINK... but I don't know who it's from.... other than someone in michigan! BUT WOW......
It makes me feel bad for my trader, because I have so few perennials to share! I guess I'll have to make it up to her when I can divide some of these!
WOW.... thank you, whoever you are!
Debbie,
I am glad you received your box. The yellow flowers are sundrops. My writing isn't always very good.
Hi Kim! I am so glad you were pleased with your box. I can hardly believe that it arrived so quickly (it was mailed yesterday afternoon). That's a miracle!
Maybe one of the postal carriers took it home and dropped it off on the way. LOL. Sorry, but the postal carrier must have raided the Sonic bag before it got to you! :D
The pink/green and the lime green coleus were from unnamed plants purchased from Home Depot and which I had planted in the spring. I have more if you'd like. I didn't send a whole bunch of cuttings because I really didn't think they'd make it in this heat.
The green sweet potato vine is 'Marguerite' (you probably have the other popular one, 'Blackie'). Surprisingly, the 'Marguerite' I planted is hanging on not only in the shade, but in the sun too (but it is still only June -- July and August might be another story). It is a good grower and makes a nice display, especially around other plants.
Again, I'm glad you are pleased. I was absolutely thrilled with the box that I got from Tombstonejan. Wasn't this fun?
Here is a picture of my 'Marguerite' ornamental sweet potato vine growing in a container with dusty miller, a little areca palm, and a pink begonia (in back):

Hi Greta,
I was hoping that yarrow was the one you mentioned! And I wanted you to have a souvenir of the Jersey Bayshore. My little boy picked that out. He likes seagulls. He may be the only person I know who does! I freaked when I saw the zone 4/5 and was hoping that I had a few things that would do well for you. Learned my lesson last winter. Zones matter...
Boy...last week it barely cleared 60 degrees here and today its 97 F. I gotta move the AC upstairs...
Sheila
I received my box today and got some really nice plants from Melissa. I got var. ginger, Kent bells that I wanted really bad, Judith daylily's and something else that I can't remember at this moment. These were really good sized plants. Thank you so much Melissa for your generosity.
Patricia
Cathy, (CatBirdSue)
