Epiphytes

Churchill, Victoria, Australia(Zone 10a)

I have recently been adding a number of epiphytic ferns to the PDB and there is no category (apart from ferns) to describe them. An extra item in the Category list for epiphytes would be a useful addion to the list.

Totally agree here... many bromeliads and orchids are epiphytic... would be nice to have a category for them. Even a cycad I added is an epiphyte.

I'll second that one as well, for my own part, I'd like to see ferns and orchids with a few of their own checkboxes before the catagories get too big. I'm more than happy to help out with it

Okay, but are epiphytes truly a "class" of plants by themselves, or is it epiphytic a trait or attribute that could/should go in the "other" list? (Pardon the ignorance showing here...)

I'd say a class of plant of themselves as the culture is very different to terrestrial species

For what it's worth, some Bromeliads are epiphytic, many are not.

either way,
if you knew it was an epiphyte before hand, culture would be completly different right from the start.
