The current PDB search engine queries all across Common name, Family, Genus, Species and Synonym and will display the results in a to me unknown sorting order (my guess is date of entry). This initial query does not allow for any direct sorting of the results thus if I want to sort by species I first haved to go to one of the plants click on the genus to display all of the genus and then I can sort by species.
Would it be possible to get an enhanced Search option which allows for queries limited to or multiple choiced to Common Name, Family, Genus, Species and Synonym (maybe also entries with pictures only) and furthermore primary and secondary query sort options, e.g. primary: Species; secondary: with Pictures?
All that on one Enhanced Search screen would be nice.

I'm for anything that makes searching the PDB easier. I'd love to be able to have filter fields that we could type in the search critieria for a given field. I think that's what Milan was suggesting.

A nice intermediate filter function....would it be possible if when I type in "Sharon" as the search term it would bring up results in columnar format with columns for Common Name, Family, Genus, Species, Cultivar and photo and then allow you to click on a column header to sort by that column? This would be similar to the Journal functionality and allow for some sorting input by the user.
