Found a new species of love-birds in our garden :)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Clare & Mike, my MIL & FIL. It was their 60th and we celebrated with lunch. They really were only posing with smiles when DH was lifting me in the tractor bucket to snap their pic. I heard her say, "I sure wish we had been married outside in a garden." He turned around and said something I couldn't hear, and kissed her. (So much for the roaring diesel)

Cute picture. Tractor buckets are great mobile platforms for bird watching.

Lovely picture and sentiment - - warms the heart!

And I love all your beautiful beds. We could give you a new Daves name - - you could become "WeedWackingWoman"!

Lakeland, MN(Zone 4a)

Congratulations on their 60th! What an accomplishment. It is special to have the pictures in your yard. Your yard is beautiful. My mother has been a widow for four years and has asked if she could be married in our yard this fall. We were honored to be asked. But, secretly our minds were racing. We have a large landscape project in process with piles of compost and rock all over the place. We will have to work hard and fast to have our yard in shape by October.

Mt.Pleasant, SC(Zone 8b)

Beautiful garden, is it yours? It looks perfect and pristine. How do you keep it so maintained. I always have pieces of mulch escaping the beds and weeds weeds weeds. I spent 5 solid days last week just pulling weeds. That garden is gorgeous. I apologize if I already sent you the same message. But I think I forgot to send it. It sure looks cooler where you are. It is already in the 90's here.

That was last Saturday and it was 88 degrees!

Yes, it's ours :) It's the only place on our 3 acres that's 'formal'. We started by just building one raised bed and then another and another until we got the geometry down. We mulch heavily from our compost piles and top it off with cocoa shell mulch. It's outside the fence perimeter so our visiting canine friends won't get heart attacks from the chocolate.

Now the rest of the acreage.....whole different story, lol :)
