DG's email system question

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Dave, when I send email to someone via DG, they get a nice note at the bottom about confidentiality, and the DG name of the sender.

When someone replies to me via their own email with a copy of mine, they show (usually) their real email name, but I often have NO clue who they are on DG. In this instance, I had sent several emails to new subscribers to the TNRU last week, and have no way of knowing who has responded.

Anyway to include both DG names?

Darius, I'm not Dave and he may have a nifty technical solution, but....

I've experienced this problem on a smaller scale for co-op messages. What I found most helpful is to put the recipient's name in the subject line and/or in the message ("Dear so-and-so") although what goes in the message sometimes gets deleted. Also putting a line in the message about "please reply with your DG and real name" seems to help ;o)

Good suggestions, Terry. I still hope Dave has a suggestion that's "automatic" though.

Putting the recipient's name in the outgoing email is a good idea. If they reply and preserve the "MESSAGE FROM DAVE'S GARDEN" section, then their username will also be sent along with it.

I'll make this happen during the next programming session.

I always end my email with my name and my DG name in parenthesis.

I have gotten into the habit addressing the user's DG name in my salutation because of that very thing. I appreciate it when people put something in the subject line, too, because I have some pretty stringent spam filters going on at server-level now by my web host. I review all the "possible spam" and it's nice seeing quickly if someone has DG in the subject line, just in case!
