Please all think dark pink!

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

whew... good thing it is pink... the neighbors threatened to call the cops on me after my last jaunt in the garden doing my dance.. Kell.. your flower looks beautiful and if it started out that dark it can only get darker with time!! Way to go!!!

and it doesn't even closely resemble Frosty... *snickering*

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I knew after I gave up and went to bed, she would post a picture! I like the shape, hope it darkens up for you.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Gorgeous, just knew it couldn't be another Frosty.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

That she is! :)

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Woke up and came right here...after a quick peek at my garden...so glad for you that she is pink, kell....
Waiting to see her after she darkens....How about photos about every 4 hours...would that be too much?

I forgot it is Sat. and you might have other plans...but what could be more important than photographing your new baby and sharing her picture with your DG friends!

Any meals out planned???? Please let us know, so we won't wait around all day!!!

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Kell....you lucky girl! Great Job!!! I hope she gets really dark for you! I can't wait to see more pics!

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Very pretty, Kell!!! Love the shape, and I'm a sucker for long tendrils. I hope that it gets darker for you, but even if it doesn't, you have to send a piece to someone in a warmer place to see what it does there! We're cool this morning, but I would have been HAPPY to send you a few extra degrees last Saturday!

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

KELL...please turn down ronna's offer, above!!!!!

Ronna...thank you for your extra degree offer for kell in CA. I would like to say no thank you...if kell gets them, I will too! We had enough of our own degrees already this spring to last me all summer.

I appreciate your offer, but no thank-you!!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow Kell! I am anxious to see all of the true color come out. We will be looking for another picture this evening.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

She is a beauty Kell, great photo. Can't wait to hear how she looks later today!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It is freezing here now. 55 degrees right now. I just went out, no change in this baby. I am hopeful for it is as dark as L'Amour is now, which is not very dark.

I was trying to figure out if it had different genes than its parents. But since it is a sibling baby I bet it has the same genes. Does it?

Orange Park, FL(Zone 8b)

Ah I'm so happy for you! the Lamour is beautiful too

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Fish pond water Kell.... I'm telling you, that's the trick to dark pink. Go and buy some fish right now.

I'm so glad it's pink.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Kristi, we filled in our pond 2 years ago! No way my DH is ever going to redig it! Send me some!! I wonder if fish emulsion would help.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

And, you wonder, Kell, why we want pink??!! That is such a sweet color of pink and she's flashy too, just my type!!! BTW, if I was a brug queen, I'd want to be the Queen of Pinks...

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Sherry....that role I believe is already taken by kell !! How about being in her Pink court...I will be there too! LOL !!!

LOL Scoot, someone has been reading old threads!

I do not wonder why you want pinks Sherry, I got to be Queen of Pinks thru pink lust!

I still have hope for a darker pink to emerge. I am touching it with EP. My hope was for a darker Rosamond.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Kell, when you polinate a seedling, that doesnt have a name yet, do you just mark it "Seedling (BF x Rosamond) x EP" ??

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Shelly, that's how I note it when I pollinate a seedling. Sometimes I give my seedlings numbers instead of names. Makes it easier to remember which seedling the seeds came from.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Thanks Susie!

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

Great pictures Kell!!....

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Shelly, I have just been marking my tags, ex. EP 5/14/04. However, I have found come harvest day that more than once I have brought in a pod or 2 laid them down on their plate with the tag over them. Maybe even washed them and laid them out to dry only to come back that day or the next day and have no clue which plant I took it off! Yes, that is how scary it is in my mind these days. So now I am marking my tags with the mother also. I am trying to idiot proof them.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Hey kiddo, why not mark the pod with a PAINT pen?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

That's what I do Scooterbug, I mark them as I take them off the plant, just can't leave the pods because as the outside of the pod deteriorates, the ink disappears.

PAINT !!
I use silver because it shows up on 'any' color ... " Paint Pens " are found in the craft aisle.
=))

they are the size of a fat marker

I never thought of that! Silver would show up even if the pod gets all yuckie and mushy! Thanks Scoot.

Orange Park, FL(Zone 8b)

Kell did you take more pictures, is she darker now???

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

YES!! It is getting darker!! LOL

Kell it looks like you have a winner there!! How does it's color compare to L'Amour's right now?

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

It has that Outboardmotor twirl to the tendrils!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It is much darker than L'Amour. Now I am getting excited thinking of the summer color!
