Garden starting to look like spring

Frannie that is an awesome little garden you have there. You could really sit and relax there in the evenings.

Oh my.. so beautiful.. I can't wait for our yard to fix up and look like that! My yard look dead.. need lots of dirts.. to fill up around house and start to plant... and build deck in back porch and add some tropical plants around.

Gee whiz.....the comments have been so heart-warming to me. Thanks to all of you again.

Kell, I did take more pictures today and maybe I can post some later. I will try and show all the different walkways included in this area and views from different parts of the garden area. Actually, I have a picture when it was completely empty except for the outline of the bricks and you can see all the walkways. I will look for it.

All various garden types are beautiful to me. It is a personal preference. Some like more order (in planting) than I have and some like more of a freeform yard. My daughter thinks I have way too much in my area. She likes everything in it spot with space around it. By the end of summer, the beds will be so full because of growth. I think Amy and Kell's son think alike.....he told Kell that she had too much for his taste.

Actually, if I were younger and had more land, I would like to have garden areas that were completely different from each other because I do like variety and to be able to enter a different scenic view would be my ideal. I am like everyone else here.....I still wish.

Bless your heart, sweet girl. Beautiful, maybe, but NOT always personal preference. I assure you I would select different plants. As it is, I'm forced into my choices. Drat it!!

Frannie, your daughter sounds like my DH, but I don't listen to him when it comes to my flowers. I love them all and cram as many in as I can get. I just wish my yard looked like yours. It is gorgeous.

Deb, you have a good memory. I do have a fountain that is right off the breezeway/porch. We did not add the fountain head because I wanted the sound of trickling water over the stone.

Sylvia, I can see that we think alike....lol

Barbara, it is a gorgeous plant. Now I know I will have to create more beds as an extension to my garden area.

While doing spring house cleaning, I ran across a copy of the garden plan and a picture of how it looked when we first were getting started in spring of 2002. I have many pictures from all areas of the garden to show the pathways but I sure don't want to bore anyone with lots of pictures. Thought by see the drawing plan, all of you could better see the pathways.

This is when we first started tilling the whole area. As you can see I had a sweet little helper.

The other picture is the layout of the edging and you can see the walkways.

It even amazes me when I look at the pictures. I just cannot imagine a bare upper back yard anymore.

Orange Park, FL(Zone 8b)

Ah Frannie,

I was needing a moment of peace & rest, placed my heart and thoughts in your gardens and found myself...refreshed.

Thank You for sharing your world.

Gee, looking at those before pictures, it is hard to imagine that everything grew so lush and huge in just 2 years. There must be a magic garden fairy living in yard that sprinkles magic dust on everything every night. LOL

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Please show us more .... it is so beautiful. We will be far from bored. I also have your photo on my computer at work in my screensaver.

Frannie, you are about an hour and a half late. Maybe you will make it in time for the last inning. LOL!! Love talking to you on the phone. Hope you have a great time tonight.

Bob, were you talking about that tall one back behind the bird bath? I'd love to see a picture looking back toward the house so I could see all those tall ones she has blooming.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)
