By now it should be evident that computers are not my thing so you get these courtesy of Rikerbear who came to visit today and was kind enough to take some rohdie pictures and e-mail to me so my daughter who came tonight for a overnight visit can post them for me. So Candy, this ones for you, you asked first.
My front yard in the middle is a pink dogwood tree.
Yard pictures
Thanks mark so good of you to do this for me . Thought the pictures came out well given the light and the conditions the blooms are in. One good rain and they are gone till next year. Ernie

Gorgeous, Ernie!!!! Thanks for the pics!
Are those mountains I see in the background???
Judith I think what you see are hills and clouds there is a mountianback there over the top of the house Mt Baker but not seen because of the overcast. An hour after Mark and his friend Bob left the sky was so clear I could see the mountian like it was sitting in my back yard its pretty close. Glad you likek the picts time to go to work. Erniw
Wow! Ernie. Do they smell as good as they look? As gorgeous as those pics are, they don't even have to smell good in my book. That would just be an added bonus!! :) Thanks to Marc, too - altho he had the easy part, taking the pics! How many years does it take to get the rohdies to put on a show like that? I always admire them when we go to OH, etc. but they're not hardy here (z4) :( Thanks, Ernie! Later, Laura
Ernie, they're gorgeous! What a glorious sight to enjoy every day. Thank you for getting all those pictures for Ernie, Rikerbear! WOW.
Ernie,
One word!! Beautiful!!!!!!
Honeybee
Spring is bustin' out all over! Very pretty, thank you for sharing them with us.
The red ones cost 50 cents I think the white one was a even one buck. That was the year we built the house 32 years ago. I think I will have to give them a chainsaw pruning though they hide to much of the house making it a target for desprados and I am afraid Pete and Gabby are not to much of a determent.
Laura these are not fragrant at least I don't think so but I am sorta of a heathen and smoke so I can't tell.
Still a soft white with a hint of a pink blush and the purples to go then it's wait till next year and the show will start again. What you can't see is our front sidewalk is between those bushes and it is outrageously bright and colorful to walk down when the sun is shining. It's also an awful place to walk in the late summer at night because the spiders love it for their snares at least they are not biters at least on record.
How long does it take for a show like that? is a kinda loaded question but if you start with good healty plants say in the 20 dollar range and you get vigorous types with good soil fertilized pre and post bloom then about six weeks before dormancy about four years will give you some pretty good color . These guys are tough given half a chance they will grow by themselves.
I have enjoyed these plants for a long time and wish I had planted more and had given away less of what I did plant just can't get fifty cent starts anymore.
Got to go do gh stuff thank you for enjoying these and Mark thank you again for doing this for all maybe this winter when I have some time I will buy a digital and learn to use it bye. Ernie
Your very welcome Ernie....it was my pleasure. And a pleasure meeting you and your lovely wife as well.
I'm glad the panaramic shot turned out okay....it's actually 4 pictures I spliced together since a single pic would not have given any of the gorgeous detail.
I can't wait till the tangerine colored azalea you gave me grows up.....I will forever think of you when we see it in our yard.
I'll have you know our trip up to see you was a very expensive one....Bob had to stop at every nursery we past on the way home. Needless to say our truck bed was FULL of plants by the time we got home :-)
He's getting as bad as I am LOL
Anyway again I'm glad the pictures turned out, and that your pleased with them.
Marc
RikerBear
Isn't it great when our other halves catch the gardening bug, too?
Great yeah....expensive is more like it :-) hehehehehehehe
Isn't Ernie's yard gorgeous? And that's just the front yard - the rest of his property is filled with beautiful plants, too. And on a clear day, if he decides to take a break from yard work and look to the east, he sees Mt. Baker (10,781 ft).

Hi Candy when I clicked on the link it would not go is it me.
You are just leading these people on my yard is still a sty lol and to think strangers are going to pay to see it on June 27 wow I have a long way to go I just can't seem to find the time to finish one project because I have to stop and do gh stuff it won't wait. I know the womens cancer thing is going to benifit but in a way its just to early august would be better way more to see. Linda grrrr how could she obligate me like this oh well shes worth it.
Kimberley yes it is and it's even better when they do their half but I don't say that to loud because ther are lots of things that go on around here that I do but not anywhere like 50 percent so I think silence on this point works well for me.
So marc or mark which is it I see it both ways. If I had known you were going to stop and get more stuff I could have found something else besides the datura.
Speaking of those Candy did you get some to go from the seed I finely got tons to go after a slow start. Ernie

Ernie, the legal spelling of my name is with a K...the C is held over from my acting days....just kind of stuck.
And please don;t worry about not having given me more stuff..you were more than generous with the azalea and the 2 Dats. Besides, who knew we were gonna stop.....suppose I should have :-)
More pictures of Ernie's yard!
