We cut 3 trees from a triangular point of our land 2 years ago. This year my spousal unit started building 3 terraces. The bottom (largest) one is only 200 square feet. He went back and completley worked the soil by hand removing roots and rocks. Here are the big piles out of just that one small terrace.

I wish I had those stones!
I haven't found one yet in all the years I gardened this part of GA.
It's convenient when digging, but I can think of lots of neat things to use stone for.
Wow that's a alot of work. My back would be aching too.
Woodspirit. Send some pictures of the new terrace so we can see before and after. That is a lot of backbreaking rock picking. Donna
