Where do I find a USA Web telephone directory

without having to pay for the info?

I'm trying to locate somebody (in FL) for a friend and don't seem able to find a web page that provides this info without charging me for it.

Anybody has a link?

Thanks Gemila, but it did not work.

When I made the search through Yahoo and Lycos, I was given 4 times the name (3 times in FL and 1 time in AZ). However, any additional information (address, phone number, etc.) must be paid.

Does anybody have an alternative link?

Floridian, unfortunately I had no luck with this one either.

It's funny, because the paid ones say that there is phone, address and other info available.

Thanks tiG, but after saying they could not find any matches your link shows a box that says it does have info on the subject. After entering this box I was once again derived to Intelius which is a paid search.

If my link doesn't work either (it *should*, but then again, so should Dea's), try using Google to find their link - just type "Switchboard" into the search box and it should be the first result you see.

Thanks Terry. Your link worked but once again, next to their statement 'sorry we were unable ....' there is a box from Intelius saying they do have info (but you must pay for it).

A few years ago I found one of those shearch services (for free) that not only gave me the address of my mother's sister and her family in New Smyrna Beach (FL), but also a map and the indications how to get there. I wish I could remember which it was!

Try http://att.com/directory I've never had to pay for telephone listings. You can also go to Google and type in

firstname lastname city state zip

LOL - it's cuz my link had a comma after com - sorry. The second link is for business, but look up top and you'll see People Pages :)

I don't know if it would make a difference to have someone in the states do the search. I would be happy to try. I did a switchboard.com search this morning without any fees. You can post the name, or email it to me. I don't mind doing searches.

Go to google. Type in the complete name, the state and city if you have it. You may be surprised at the result. If you really want a shock, type in your own name and see what you get.

Gardenwife, it seems all these links are for free within the USA. I did follow your indications re. Google and much to my amusement I found out the gentleman was a wrestler when he was young (if alive, he should be some 92 years old now). However, the info available through Google did not indicate an address or a phone number.

I found another directory. I tried it on myself. There again was my address, phone number, offer to make a map or send flowers. I hope it helps you if you still need it.

Gman, thank you very much. Your link seems to work, but it finds no infor for the person I was looking for. I assume this gentleman passed away (otherwise would be 92 years old approx.). There was no luck either with the search a great DG pal made for me.
