Question of "Thread Watching"

Just because I have looked at a thread, and even posted on it, doesn't mean I've chosen to "watch" it, correct? There have been times where I've chosen to watch a thread, but the message doesn't come up. Now, it says I am watching a thread that I never said I was watching.
