Oh no! This is not a way to get the new office started. I am so sorry.
The office looks like it was a home originally, so your family lived in it before it became an office?
I also wondered why the move? You seem to be dreading it and excited all at once, lol...
Moving Jitters
Oh no BT! Wish I coul be there to help.....have gun will travel!
I'm just sick to my stomach. I keep running through what I did when I left yesterday, making sure that I locked up, and I know I did. Being the last one in there though, drives me nuts.
My Parents bought the house when I was 15, and from that day, I've always wanted it to be mine. When they divorced, it looked like it may get sold, but it worked out. It's been strictly office space for the last 6 or 7 years though. My dad was going to sell it a couple of years ago, and I asked if he could hold out a little longer, as I'd like to buy it. He waited, and it's all coming together.
I'm dreading the hassle of the move, selling a house, etc. I'm excited about buying that house, and moving to the area.
I'm so sorry this happened to you Chris!!! Such an upsetting thing to happen when you are in an already stressful situation!
Will the loss be covered by insurance?
Yes. It's all insured, but there's going to be some signifigant down time. I just got done putting auto-responders on everyones emails, so customers will know to call in. Not that calling in will do them much good, as all of their orders, and their status are on the servers.
They came in with a dolly and everything.
It looks as if it will speed up the move as well. We put a rush on the completion of the office space, so all of the new stuff will be going there, and we'll get an alarm on the house when we move. I just hope whoever did it, isn't looking for it all to be re-stocked, and make a return trip.
What an emotional ride. From sickened to absolutely [deleted], to a little scared for the future.
This could not happen to a nicer person!! What a beautiful place!!!!!
Sorry, but don't plan on keeping that Stanley Cup down there,it will be going back to Mi. where it belongs!!!
It just keeps getting more fun.
With Dad having to re-build the office, I have to take his place in Greenville South Carolina for a trade show. Leaving Wednesday.
And the cup is here to stay. :-)
:b The Stanley Cup will be coming HOME!!!! :b It *belongs* in the land of the Maple Leaf, and snow, and outdoor, (almost) permanent ICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice try guys!! ;)
Chris take a deep breath....look again at what's waiting for you at the end of this! I'm so happy that you have insurance and your losses will be covered!!

Get a nice big German Shepard with looooong sharp teeth!
We're covered for dogs. The heeler will scare off intruders.
It really looks like this was someone that knew what was there. I don't think thieves usually bring a dolly when they're looking to rob a place. I could be wrong. I don't know.
The house is in a safe area. It's on a road with acre or larger estates, and developments are moving in, but they're all in the 300k and higher range.
I'm a little frustated by having to make the SC show now, since the old man will have to stay back and rebuild a new office. Just finding out this morning that I have to leave from Wed to Sun with our house closing a week from Friday leaves me with no idea how we're going to get it done.
It'll get done, and it will all work out, but wow. It's a little overwhelming.
It really sounds like it was somebody whose been in there before. They say *lightning* rarely strikes twice in the same spot so hopefully they won't be stupid enough to return!
Your new neighborhood sounds lovely Chris...you may see us sooner than you expect! I would really love to visit with you, weeds,Stacey, Pati, Molly, crimsonstavo, etc. Of course I would be bringing two empty suitcases with me...when will your new yard be planted and when will you have babies to spare????? ;)
Pam, one of our goals is to do an open house for Buried Treasures in the Summer of 2005, so you may have to weather some heat. Almost everything we sell will be in bloom during that time. Might be good for a roundup/BT open house combo. Get all of the Florida folks over for it. If we're able to do it in 2005, it will probably become an annual event. Our family like to throw a party, and when we can completely write it off, it's even better.
:D....I just dusted off my piggy bank!! Lookin' for loonies and toonies as I type!!!!!!!!
Yippeee, gonna have a party!
I really, really, really do want to make it so!! ;)
If weeds is coming, we may have to turn it into a roundup/open house/second year celebration of the Lighting winning the Stanley Cup.
There are sometimes where I would love to reach through the monitor and strangle you Chris! ;)
You and weeds are very talented that way...tho' she does have a bit meaner streak! ;)
She-devil? I don't think so! Go BOLTS! Even though I still can't believe Florida has hockey team!
Wait till you see your plumie thread.
LOL.....It doesn't...it was just a figment of y'all's imagination! We will be sending a Canadian Ice Maker up next year...good luck skating on SLUSH! :b
Up. She's going to send a Canadien Ice Maker up! Someone needs to be emailed a map. Up is the North Pole. By about 3.5 miles.
:b
There is no up from there!
the sky??? the moon??? north star???
Lots of "ups".
Absolutely nothing further north
You really need to check on your plumie thread.
Ahhh, you mean the real up.
I know...my poor plumies going into seclusion!
Chris,I missed the Break in post,I hope you did not misconstrue my couldn't happen to a nicer person remark, that was about your new place.Sorry about the troubles.
Lilypon,the Cup returns to Detroit,sorry.
Root, I hope I didn't misconstrue it. I read it as I'm an ok guy, in your eyes.
Thanks for the remark. I'm at the, "It's nothing more than a PITA right now mentality", but it's been a roller coaster of thoughts today.
Did you see the pics on the double Amorphophallus that I posted?
No I did not,is in Tropicals?going to look.
You know I only wish for the best for you,I hope all turns out great, put the bad behind and roll on!!
Heading for Tropicals now.
Chris, I am so sorry about your break-in. I know you have worked hard to achieve what you had and to have it taken away in one night is really tough. Maybe your alarm system can have a shock hazard that would turn on when armed and shock anyone who would try to break-in enough that they wouldn't want to try it again and would spread the word through that element of society who would do such a thing.
I trust you will do very well at your new location and love that it is a fulfillment of a long time dream of yours.
Best wishes, Lani
yep, the joint was cased, for sure. After the emotional ups and downs, you will be in your beloved home and glad of the move. The thieves won't be back; they got everything they intended and a normal household is not what they looking for. Please keep us informed as the move progresses.
I live just north of Greenville, in NC. I could drop by trade show if you'll give me details on where it is and what booth you will be in..........
Woodspirit,
It's at the Palmetto Convention Center, and runs Friday from 9-5, and Saturday from 9-3.
Our company name is Bill Moore & Co., Inc, and we'll be in booth 1018.
You can get more info on the show at http://www.sgcts.org/2004/attendees/attendees_trade.html
If you come on Saturday, I can send you home with some goodies.
You can bet he will Woodspirit. He has some great thing in his booth.
Chris, I'm so sorry about the break in. I'm sure it's not just the loss that bothers, but also that sense of "violation".
I know youa re awful busy with everything right now and I will call you when things get settled down for you more, (about those extras.) Take care, have a safe trip and a good show.
:^))
Molly
Looks like I'll grab the kids on my way back Sunday, and we'll start packing up on Monday. Our goal is to have everything over there by Thursday, July 1. Will have to get a security system in before then.
I guess you'll need some new plants......?
