This is an ear that I grew the last couple of summers. I'm sure you know which one it is. LOL! I checked your site and you and I have been having some emails going back and forth. I'm Shirley. Looking forward to hearing from you again soon.

Hey Rootdoctor, that's not fair! You're breaking my heart!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I had some problems keeping it upright in the wind too. That was started the same summer from one root that I got in a trade. It did do well.

Doc, that "old" picture will never be old to me. More like amazing.

Hi Dennis. Good to see you here.

Dear Back2back, That plant is Split Leaf Philodendron aka "Selloum". Not exactly an "ear" but beautiful nonetheless.

Bambi thanks for your picture. It's lovely to see it planted outdoors and thriving instead of in a dusty old pot on someone's windowsill.

It was almost 8ft tall before I whacked her down, couldn't get her out the sunroom door, heck the pot weighed 150 lbs she was in,and has already grown back to 6ft now in one season.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Tropicman how/where do you overwinter these treasures?

Beverly Hills, CA(Zone 10a)

This baby just keeps getting bigger. It seems to prefer sun. The one's that I have in a partial shade are much smaller. Does anyone know what the largest black stem or black leaf ear is? Illustrus & Black Magic must be in the wrong spot because they have stayed really small. This is a fun thread you started AA. I love everyones ear pics!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Illustris like dappled shade and a saucer of water under the pot. Black Magic will get large if in water also. It likes more sun.

Wow AA... you've got me addicted to these things! I have a question... In Horticulture Magazine there is a photo of Xanthosoma sagittfolium Chartrtreuse Giant planted with Black Magic. I did a google & it looks like the color is the same as lime zinger. The black magic in the photo looks taller but chartreuse giant really stands out. You have some amazing combos of black & lime (golden). Do you think they would grow & get as large in BH 90210? I saw Lime Zinger planted with margarito & blackie underneath.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Ok...I'm not having fun here! I keep seeing red x's and no pics! Ugh!!!

Beverly Hills, CA(Zone 10a)

Hey Brin... me too & I thought it was me!
