Hi ! Has anyone ever made a Medicine Wheel Garden? Its planted in a round shape with herbs, and has a planted T shape in the middle with the quadrants filled in with lower growing plants.
I was looking for specific dimensions, plants to include, etc. If I find out more, would anyone like the info. ???
Stay downwind from the buffalo..........
Medicine Wheel Garden?
how's this look? this is a picture I found on BHG Australia... but I would use different low growing thymes instead of stones to walk on the paths... and a bay laurel in the middle to grow your own bay leaves...? or maybe a working fountain to splash everything with water all day?

Thank you so much. It looks gorgeous eh? Wow ! Something to consider for the only plateau on my hilly yard. Thanks a bunch !! Shine on Silver !!
I'd love to do a Medicine Wheel... Keep us posted!
I found this on the net. It has some explanations of what is the Medicine Wheel Garden for those that don't know and for those that might want to take a look..... http://pathoftheheart.net/medicine_wheel.htm :o)

April!!!!! You did it!!!! I knew you could do it!!!! Folks, April just joined Dave's Garden a few days ago. She's jumping right in and making herself at home.
Thanks, folks, for helping her find the information she needed.
Good luck, April!
Welcome to Daves! And Peace on the trail!
A giant hearty WELCOME to DG, April! Come on in and set a spell!
Hope to see more of your medicine wheel when you get going on it. (Big medicine, ya know.)
Be seein' ya around the site!
Thanks so much everyone for your acknowledgement and encouragement. I appreciate it so much. I will definately keep you posted on the Medicine Wheel Garden. I have a plateau between hill 2 and 3 in my yard that has an est. oval shaped bed in it. I need a load of topsoil to bring it up after gouging into it in the fall to disperse some of the overgrowth. In the centre of it is a dwarf ornamental crab tree ( I think) . My backyard faces north and I am surrounded by lots of trees. I back onto conservation land with a mini forest and a creek behind me. Its extremely steep and clay soil but I will prevail!! Has anyone ever heard of knee pads with spike in them? heeh
So... over 4 years later, how is the medicine wheel garden?
I'm curious too.
Actually I just want to build a medicine Wheel. :)
darius, I just posted over in the Herb forum; more of the same I've posted before.
I don't follow the herb forum (too many forums!)... what did you post?
A picture of my herb circle; it has a lot of medicinals. Also referenced E. Kavasch "The Medicine Wheel Garden."
Ahhhh. Thanks, I'll look for it.
