I'm speaking about DG tomorrow in New Braunfels

Anyone in the area who wants to meet and chat with me is welcome to come to an event tomorrow held at Schumaker's Hill Country Gardens.

I will be speaking there about Dave's Garden and the Plants Database. My presentation begins at 12:30pm. I know we have a few DGers from around San Antonio, so why don't you come out and say hello?

Directions to the place: http://www.hillcountrygardens.com/directions.html

It's a nice nursery and worth looking around. They have a slew of great TX natives.

And here I sit in Ohio! It would be so nice to see you again!

It sounds like an awesome opportunity to share the PDB and DG with your neighbors. Try not to buy too many plants. LOL

Dave, How did this talk go?

It went great! There were about 25 people in the audience and they were mostly master gardener type people.

Through the day after the presentation, people were coming up to me asking me if I had an extra flier about DG that they could have (apparantly the place was abuzz with talk about it, as new folks were coming in they were pointed toward me for a flier).

Dave Steinbrenner (local DGer who is also a friend of mine) was there, and he attended the presentation and told me that it was well done and that the audience was being responsive.

After the presentation, there were a few good questions during the "question and answer" time and that was nice. One girl asked if we were considering a Pests and Diseases database like the PDB, to which I responded that we thought about it before and we're not against doing it one day...

The weather was terrible; it was a record low temperature day. I think it got down to 44. Despite the weather, everyone had a great time!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Cool - glad to hear it went well, Dave!

Yep! I was hoping some DGers would be there. Paul (the manager) told me that "Kaufmann" would be there, but she didn't show. Well, maybe next time I'll post a little earlier and give folks some notice! :)

Dave: I had every intention of being there, I was so looking forward to meeting you. Unfortunately though, the reason I was not was that I was told by a Schumacher's employee that you were speaking at 11:00 AM. I'm in the Comal County Master Gardener class which meets Saturday mornings. We didn't get out that day until after 1:00 PM, and I assumed you were long gone. When I got home, there was an e-mail from Paul stating the correct times, so I do apologize. It sounds like you had a good turn-out despite the yucky weather!

CHARITON, IA(Zone 5a)

Cool weather or not Dave - nothing like the Texas hill country in the Springtime!!!!!!!
