Cheated by flower company

Clearfield, PA(Zone 5a)

Hi, In January of this year, I ordered some flowers over the internet. In April, I decided to cancel the order, I called the company and got an answering machine and left a message to cancel my order. The original price of the order was $13.38 but the company billed me for $73.38. My bank statement showed that this company has deposited $13.38 into my account. I called them to inform them that they still owe me $60 and they apologized and promised to refund the rest of my money but they haven't. Every time I call them I get an answering machine and I feel that they are screening my call.
They were only authorized to deduct the $13.38.
Since they took $73.38 from my account, is that theft?
What should I do?

i would call your credit card company and tell them. most of them will look into it for you.

yes it is theft and agianst the law. talk to your card company and then call a laywer and just see what they say. most of the time the credit card comapny will take care of it. good luck and so sorry this has happened. please let us know who this was so we dont get into trouble like this.

Agreeing with Imzadi; also may want to check with the Better Business Bureau.

Be sure and post against this company in GardenWatchdog so the rest of us will know who to watch out for.

I talked to the owner of this company last night and she said that it takes bt 2 to 3 days for one bank to transfer funds to another bank. I keep checking my account but the money is still not in there.

Just to let everybody know--I checked my bank account at 9:00am this morning and my $60.00 is back. I am so glad that this is finally over!

We'd still like to know the company....I don't want to do business with anyone that causes a hassle. Kathy
