I had already read your thread earlier, but it doesn't sound like anything I've ever seen before. I must admit that the ID pics suggested did not match my vision of what you described, but I'm like that sometimes.

I'll try to remember to ask my daughter if it sounds like anything she has ever seen before in her travels, not that she would probably know what it is. But maybe, if she knows where some is, she can take a pic. I hope she knows how to post the pic on DG, because I sure don't.

Not much help, am I, but I put a watch on your thread, and will keep an eye on it. I do usually notice plants around me.

Navarre is close to Pensacola, isn't it, a beach west of Destin? I don't think I have been that far west in FL, but I'm not sure. It's quite a way from Tallahassee. We've tended to go east or south in our travels.

Sounds like an interesting plant. I'd like to know ID also, see a pic if possible.

Good luck! Maybe someone farther around the Gulf, in AL, MS, or LA could help.

Thanks for your post here on this thread. I just wanted to let you know that I did find out what it is. The plant that I was looking for info on. Here is the link with lot's of photos of it.
