Emergency help? Who's up?

My daughter who works in the ER at a major hospital just sent me a text message designed to finish off my gray hair.

The hospital is in lockdown, because they found a couple of pipebombs.

Please, pray?

It's just driving me crazy, can't find any news, she can't call, I know she can't leave. How could anyone put something like that in a hospital where so many people can't leave?

Maybe she can text msg again - I'm praying, too.

oh my, was ready to shut this down and go to bed and stopped here for a sec. ... glad I did, will say a prayer for all concerned here... so scary for them all and so hard for a mom waiting for news... do what my mom did all the time, say "they'll call you with bad news, think positive and pray". With 9 kids in 11 1/2 yrs., she needed it a lot - there's nothing worse than one of your children in trouble.. please post when you can, Laura

I will be here praying very hard for all the people affected by this terrorist activity. I still find it very hard to believe that anyone would do such a thing to anyone else especially innocent people in a hospital of all places. Please post again when all is clear which should be soon I would think.

Thanks guys, it is so hard to sit here and wait, but going down there would do no good. Nothing on TV, or internet news sites. I swear, I'm gonna go buy a police scanner!

We have the thing with call with bad news too, its just sometimes THEIR idea of news and mine differ. A LOT!

I bet you are just wearing a hole in your carpeting with the paceing. I know I would be. I will try to check back in very soon but I don't know if I will remain awake long enough to be back tonight. I had to take my meds and they usually put me to sleep right here at the computer if I am here. When I wake up from a sleep like that my neck sure hurts.

Ok, she just called. They found a note in Labor & Delivery about multiple pipe and propane bombs. To keep down panic, they paged the police rather than put it out over the air. Police, FD and Bomb squad responded. They found (and took away) a briefcase, a box, and something that sounded like a molotov cocktail. They didn't tell the employees much, but she said they were at least very thorough in the search.

Ok, my nervous tic is back. Anyone want to trade some of my flowers for Miss Clairol?

Of all places, where the babies are?? I'm so glad that it got taken care of, and that they were so thorough. What a scary experience. Just think of the gray as a sign of love :)

Sorry I wasn't able to stay awake longer. Hugs of relief for you from me. I will never understand the thought processes of people who would do such things. It is crazy. Now I am hopeing and praying that they find whoever it was that did this act. Prayers of relief also that no one was injured.

Thank you all, for your concern. I was at wits end last night, couldn't get any information, she isn't allowed personal calls, and has to be sneaky to send a text or she gets in trouble. Not a single news team covered it. All I could think of was not again.

I still have no news coverage and nothing but rumors from the hospital. DD just went to a staff meeting this morning, so maybe learn more there.

All I could think of last night was to pray, and wanted as much help as I could get! I knew some of you nightowls would still be up. Thank you.

I know how frustrating it is when you can't get news about something so important to you. But if they are keeping it quiet they are probably trying to prevent copycats and also allowing time for investigators to do their jobs.

The hospital , no doubt would like to keep it quiet also so that patients and their families will not panic.

Thank goodness they found the problem and everyone came out of it safe and sound.
