Ooooooh - so pretty :)

Elkhart, IA(Zone 5a)

ya gotta love these little lady jane tulips. They look like little lipsticks in the morning and by mid morn and afternoon they are wide open like this. They are a wonder.

Same lady jane tulips in the morning (or on a cloudy day). These little tulips have a finer foliage that dies back quicker.

With the muscari and bluebells they are really lovely. I love the bluish green foliage on these :)

anemone blanda, white splendor. These bloomed for a long time and took alot of damage from bad weather. Note to self......plant more next fall!

Boy, my anemone hasn't bloomed yet. Just planted them last fall so I'm anxious to see what they look like.....

Elkhart, IA(Zone 5a)

Oh kooger! you wont be disappointed! Let us know when yours bloom and post a picture for us!

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

This is my first visit to the bulb forum...and BOY am I happy I found it! You ALL have such beautiful flowers . I just started working w/ bulbs last fall and here are a few pics taken this morning.
Is there something I need to do with the soil/bulbs after the flowers die off? I really like the way these tulips look and hope I can preserve them for next year.

Will these bulbs flower next year...or will I have to replace them with new bulbs in fall?
Thank you. Renee

my aneomes only got one bloom per plant. is it because they are very new? those were gorgeous!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Hi Renee! When my blooms on tulips - not other bulbs are about gone, I cut the blooms off so the energy left will go back to the bulb. I fertilize them while they are in bloom.

Whatever you do - don't cut or tie off the foliage. They need this for next year's production.

anahi - your anemones are spectacular! Writing this down for my wish list this fall :)

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

Thanks for answering my question, Dea.... AND BTW....That garden (pic) of yours doesn't look one bit tired. Its lovely. Now it looks like I will have to find a good source for a few Allium bubls this fall, too. LOL And if I can find a source for those Lady Jane tulips that Anahi posted...I'll be set. Those are some pretty little things-aren't they?
*** Another question. Would the Fritillaria bulbs benefit from bulb food also? Is there any particular bulb fertilizer that you prefer...? Or would the stuff I saw at WalMart be OK?
Thanks again....... Renee

Wow everybodies pictures are beautiful. I wanna play too. My tulips have done great this year for some reason. This is part of one of my beds in the front yard.

mystic, do you know the name of the burgandy tulips? thats the color and height that I'm looking for.

Renee-o, I got the lady jane tulips from Brent and Beckys bulbs. They are a real treat!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Anahi, they are Triumph Tulips 'Negrita'. They are purple, but sure don't look like it in that picture. They have really held up well with all the rain we had last week.

Elkhart, IA(Zone 5a)

Thats exactly what I'm looking for, tulips that can stand up to the rain. Thanks for the info!

High Springs, FL(Zone 8b)

I've been too busy to photograph my amaryllis lately, but here's some from last spring. (All of these have either just finished blooming, or are in bloom right now.)

Anahi- I'm Glad you saw that part of my post about the Lady Janes. OOOHHH THEY look so pretty. I'm off to B & B's to see if I can reserve some for this fall.

Helena, AL(Zone 7b)

cic77......sorry it took me so long to answer your question, been having ISP problems. Yes, that was a photo of Hot Cocoa. I have three of them and love them. The only thing is they are very prone to black spot so I spray once a week, other than that, no problems. Here is another photo I took tonight.
