An unexpected weather day!

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Look what it has been doing here for the past 3 hours. I'm sure Melody has gotten quite a bit her way. Had no idea this was coming. This picture was taken about 2 hours ago and now we have almost 3 inches!!! And the roads are terrible!!!! Ralph has to drive to town to pick up our granddaughter, the bus will drive so far and they asked us to pick her up at a church.

And another picture as it was starting!

Yikes! I will stay here where it is warm.

We now have 4 inches, the roads are terrible. Ralph is on his way to town to get Halee and just called me and said in 5 miles there are 4 bad wrecks, the ambulances are all over!

Say some prayers folks that people get home unscathed by this surprise snow storm!

Yeah, it's a bummer. We are forecast to get 2-3 inches overnight, and we are waaay south of you.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

We got about a half inch before it melted. It was gone by 10 AM. It was still an unwelcome sight this morning when all I've been thinking of is my veggie garden.

Well, we ended up with 6 inches!!! I emailed Jay Cardosi at Channel 32 News and at 6 p.m. he said, "I've received some email pictures I'll have on at 11 tonight." So I will watch the 11 news and see if my birdhouse is there :)

They said that Andyville had been hit hard, which is where we actually live.

I thought for sure you had more snow than that Mel, it looked like you were getting hammered too. Glad you didn't. Hoping our broccoli plants withstood the weather.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Yowzers! What a weird weather pattern. We had mid-70's here today and I am finally getting to cleaning up my flowerbeds and watering my new grass I planted last fall. We are suddenly very dry here and could use some rain or some very wet snow.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

This was at 4 p.m. We got about 1 - 2 more inches after this picture. Tomorrow is suppose to warm, around 60s and this weekend (our anniversary :) )....in the 80s. I'll be surely planting again!

OMG you guys, I'm so sorry you're getting snow; and I've been upset over the rain! It's flooding here. What is up with this weather anyway? Kinda freaky...

It's supposed to get better here on Thursday and I can't wait. I've got stuff in buckets growing because I've not been able to get out to dig at all yet...

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Well, the birdhouse was on! First thing when the news started. :)

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I think if it had been colder we would have had much more snow. The air just above us was super cold, but the temps on the ground were in the low 40's. Looked like a blizzard...just didn't stick.

Great shot Kathy! You now have a celebrity birdhouse!

Did you see our news in Benton? or did you just see the pic here? Jay Cardosi wrote me back this morning and thanked me for the picture, said it was quite impressive to say the least. He seems like a nice guy and I told him I could send him great sunset shots, etc. as we are the highest point in Meade County. :)

Glad you didn't get it, still hoping our broccoli plants survived.
