Regularly Unsubscribed to Newsletter

Hi Dave. Every second or third day I no longer receive the daily newsletter. I have to go back into my Preferences & resubscribe & then it is fine for another two days & then it is back to no newsletter again. I don't mind doing it this way, I was just wondering if there was a glitch. Thanks... Linda

Yep, me too. I was "unsubscribed" last Saturday, and didn't receive Sunday's newsletter. I resubscribed and got it fine all week, but got unsubscribed again last night, so no newsletter today. I've resubscribed again ;o)

And another non-subscribing member reported the same problem.

Add me to the list. As a non-paying member of the Plants Database, I received the daily newsletter intermittently after approx. 1 year of consistent delivery. I checked every conceivable reason for the non-delivery and every bit of advice given without determining the reason for the non-delivery. Today, I became a paying member of Dave's Garden, and I'll be a VERY unhappy camper if I experience the same problem.

same here, thot it was other 'puter issues so didn't mention it, but it happened again today.

For me, I didn't receive the NL on 4/8 nor today. I didn't do the subscribe thing to correct it on the 8th nor today either. I figured you'd get to it.

There is very seldom an 'unhappy camper' here and I'm sure all will be taken care of. Glad to see you step right on in and post your dilemma...it's the only way you can be helped if something goes awry.

There is no doubt in my wimpy little mind that dave will come to the rescue!

Same as here but I know Dave will take care of it give him take time to work on it, it will be back normal soon that we hope.

Hmm. I was unsubscribed recently before I came out to New Mexico on holiday and here is what I think happened.. : I went to the 'preferences' link because I was trying to subscribe someone else and the page where you want to subscribe to the newsletter came up first (which I wasn't concerned with) so I clicked okay or save or whatever it is and the newletter stopped. I think that it defaults to not getting the newsletter everytime you go to DG prefs if you aren't paying attention. Just my ever so humble ....... : )

That's an interesting hypothesis.... you may be on to something. For what it's worth, I got unsubscribed again - no newsletter last night :(

I get mine every other day.

Indeed, there was a bug in the preferences page (when did that appear?). When you go to it, it automatically unchecks the subscription whether you were subscribed to it or not.

I have fixed that, so go to the prefs and make sure the box is checked off. Save the page and go back and see if it is still checked off.

that was aggravating but hopefully this'll fix the problem. Good report, daisyavenue!

no newsletter Sunday (Easter Sunday) orTuesday(4-13), but did get it at 9:38,4-13. I thought firewall was blocking it but didn't have firewall Easter Sunday. larrycook

Things are getting better. Newsletter arrived @7:15. Liked it much better when I had chance to read it b4 going to work. It used to arrive around 2:00am. Thanks

I, too, have been experiencing the every other day without receiving the newsletter. Double checked last night sometime after 9 pm (CDT) that preference was marked to receive it. However, I did not receive the newsletter this a.m. ??

FYI - As of 5:30 (CDT) no newsletter again this a.m. although my preferences still show I am subscribed to the newsletter

me too! i didn't get mine again this morning. i also looked at my preferences page and the checks are there. Dave, we need your help!!!

Iv been getting mine late in the morning instead of it already being there when I log on at about 8 am. Although I didnt get this past sundays newsletter.

You should all receive it shortly...

And, we'll try again tomorrow and see how it goes.

It's going out now. We had some mail troubles yesterday that I "Fixed" and my "fix" caused some other problems.

Oh my goodness!! I turned the computer off after my post that I had not received DG's today and now when I turned it on there it was arrived at the same time as I turned off. Go figure!

Dave, FYI - It was nearly 9:00 a.m. central time yesterday before I received my newsletter - normally receive it prior to 5:00 a.m. Newsletter was not waiting for me this morning either. I did double check to be sure the box on "my preferences" page was still checked and it is. Thanks for all your hard work
