Ponditis has dislocated wrist

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

It happened last night. She will be seeing the surgeon ASAP. She said she might not be online for a few days and didn't want folks to worry.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

OUCH! Hope upi heal fast-will add her to my prayer list!
GET BETTER FAST

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hmm...musta got it from pulling in all those fish from her ponds.

Hoping it gets taken care of soon and heals fast, Pondy!

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Hmmmmm I was thinking that I heard this a while back too? Did she do it again??
Eaither way I hope she feels better soon.

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

I hope all heals quickly, Lani, we will miss your sense of humor.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

She had surgery a few weeks ago to correct this problem and is hoping the surgeon will do the second surgery for nothing since he apparently didn't do enough the first time. She says the pain is in a slightly different place this time around but close to the same spot. I know she would appreciate your prayers.

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

Yikes! Hope this is taken care of soon. Will hold in my prayers, too.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Wrist pain really hurts. I will keep her in my prayers.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Now Lani, does this mean we won't be hearing from you for awhile? :(

You get yourself healed and get back real soon! You know our prayers are with you!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

TY :)

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Praying for a speedy recovery, Ponditis. When a wrist hurts using that hand is difficult at best.

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

Ouch!! I'll bet that hurt..... Any torn ligaments?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

You're in my thoughts and prayers - get well soon!!!!

Lani, I hope the doctor can help you ASAP.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

See Doc Tuesday am. I'll keep you posted.

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Lani-You take care of yourself or I am going to have to come out there!!!!!!

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

It looks like she is behaving herself pretty well judging by her short replies here, she is really not a woman of few words . Happy Easter.

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

Hiya, Pond!

How'ya doin?

I could overnight some of that poke salat & cornbread. Want some chitlins with that? Oh, and the okra & maters.

Don't you dare answer! You're not supposed to be typing!

I hope the pain has eased some, rather than getting worse.

You know you're in my prayers.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Pain is better because I found a wrist brace that has a splint in it. I had it put away from a prior injury. THANK GOODNESS I am a packrat!!!!

Judith, I am there in spirit eating away at your food. YUMMMMM

Marcia, do you promise to come out if I misbehave? Well then I WILL. I can't wait till you get here. We can go fishing in my big pond and plant the garden and tour you around.

MaryE, thanks for telling my secret that I am a woman of many words. I owe you one. bwhahahahahaha

Gotta go. Hand needs back on the pillow. Love to all of ya.

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

I'm glad you found that wrist brace/splint thingy. I think I might have one of those packed away somewhere from back when I had wrist problems.

Didn't have to have surgery on mine though. Just bought a laptop computer to take class notes instead of hand writing. Problem went away! Well, I still have a bit of nerve damage.

Hey, I've still got the "boots" I had to wear when I had foot surgery, and the ice bags for pain to strap around it. Thank God for ice bags!

Would that help your wrist, Lani? Just a thought as I was typing this. Electrochemically speaking (did I just say that?), your brain has trouble processing both temperature and pain signals at the same time. (See, I did actually learn something in school!) So the ice helps supress the degree of pain you feel. Also cuts down on swelling.

Anyway, everybody's a doctor with advice!!!!!!LOL

I'm so glad you're taking care of it.

MarciaGeiger, I've already threatened her about coming up there!
Your threat got more results than mine. Maybe it was combined. We both know she'd have us working our b***s off if we came there. He**, I'd do the same!

Isn't everybody a pack rat????????

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

So thats why I haven't heard from you. You just have to learn which BIG weeds to pull!!
Take care of yourself Lani so that when we visit this fall we can do fun things.
Archie sees a surgeon on the 22nd of this month and so we shall see what comes of that and how long he will be laid up.

Love ya my friend and say HELLO to that big husband of yours.

Maxine

Temple, GA(Zone 7b)

hugs and a special prayer you'll be fine, and feel much better!
luv ya,
Traci S

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

It sure is hard to behave when a person has friends like you guys. lol I love all of you and will let you know what I find out in the morning but I probably won't be home till late evening so I can look around the "big city" book stores. Gotta have reading material while I heal again.

Hugs, Lani

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

We'll be anxiously waiting to hear!

Prayers for good outcome.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Hi, Lani -- praying for you. Hope the ice helps - good idea there. :)

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Lani,I hope you mend well, take it easy for awhile.

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

Lani, what did the doctor say?

I hope you feel up to giving us a Y or a N on surgery.
Or a G for good report or a B for lousy report from Doc.

We'll translate, and try not to make assumptions other than just the letter(s) you can send.

We're here for you!!!!!!

Lots of prayers, love, and hugs going your way.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

I am the great one handed typer here. The surgeon wants me to keep the wrist strapped up and resting for two more weeks and then unwrap it and use it for a week before I see him again. He thinks (and hopes as do I) that it is the soft tissue from the last surgery, March 4, that is still swollen and is catching in there making it feel like it is dislocated. In the meantime he was glad I had immobilized it and I have been icing it from the time of the surgery a few times a day which he wants me to keep doing.

IF it doesn't heal to not catch again then he will discuss other options. He says the other options are controversial but we won't worry about them now because he is very hopeful that it is just swelling. Me too.

Thanks for all your support and prayers for me during this time and I hope my friends understand if I am not doing my usual big posts for a while. (Of course some of you will be happy I am not doing the big posts. LOL)

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

Ah, Lani! I was so worried about you!

I'm glad that it may not be as serious as you feared. But please, please take care of it!!!! And, at least speaking for myself, I really miss you a lot on the forums.

Please don't do anymore shoveling, etc., until your wrist is fully recovered. I know how tempting the yard can be and how much you hate to see things that need doing and nothing's getting done. But it will keep. I know.

I've just become able to tiptoe outside a bit and at least supervise. And I've been ordering seeds like crazy, and a few plants. I sure hope I don't lose my garden helper for a while!

I laugh at myself, along with my DH, about my gardening enthusiasm now. I'm beginning to realize that I've been stocking up and trying to get things I always wanted to have or try growing, quick, before I can't anymore. How silly!

It's like I've been preparing for the worst. I really had resigned myself to having to retire from gardening with all the problems I'm having. But I have some temporary relief right now, so I'll just take it easy, maybe plant a pot-a-day or something! LOL

What a mess on the kitchen counter every day! My DH will just "love" it.

Hope you'll continue to improve each day, and the problem will resolve for you soon. I could send you a bouquet. Would that help, or just make it worse? Sorry!

Love,

Judith

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Hmmm I think a bouquet of the "funny plant" might get some of my pain going away for a while. lol Actually I went outside tonight and picked a big bouquet of liliacs. Tomorrow I will pick another for Mom and take them to her.

I will do my best to behave myself for a while. But watch out when the doc says I can get going again!!!!!!! I have a yard out there that is waiting for me and a new baby tiller too. lol

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

Ooh! I love lilacs! My FIL used to grow a bunch of them along a fence in Spokane.

Too bad they can't stand our heat.

Enjoy!!!!

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Are your lilacs really blooming already? Mine are just showing buds!!
Glad to hear that it wasn't too major with your wrist. Now maybe you can come and watch me transplant 12 flats of seedlings. Oh why did I get so weak!!!!
Must have planted the whole store of seeds.

Maxine

Tremont, IL(Zone 5b)

Lani, I too want to wish you a speedy recovery. It's better to take it easy for a while for it to heal good then to try to do things too soon & do more damage. Ask me how I know. I had carpan tunnel surgery!

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

How ya' doin' today, Pond? Hope you got some restful sleep last night, even if from sheer exhaustion lately.

You're doing pretty good as a one-handed typer. Or is DS helping out some?

Morning hug (well, at least to us nightowls) ;)

Lani, I hope that the rest heals your wrist completely and you will be pain free soon.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

I got drugged sleep last night and today am really wanting a nap but I have to get these darn taxes done. So here I am procrastinating again by checking in at DG. I guess I will be at it most of the night to get them done. sigh

I can type one handed pretty well and the doc did tell me I could use this hand for typing as long as it didn't twist the wrist or get tired so I have an ergonomic keyboard and have turned it toward my left side to help with the twist. I might be around more again here at DG AFTER I get the taxes done.

Gotta go get more done. Hugs for all of ya, Lani

Temple, GA(Zone 7b)

Lani,
Just checking on ya! I sure wish we lived closer, and I could help ya w/those taxes, and whatever else too. Sorry I haven't checked on ya in the past few days, but I had all that family stuff to deal with, and everything went wonderful. I'm so glad to hear that it wasn't anything real major, and the trooper you are with some rest and Ice, I bet you'll be doing much better in no time. I'll still include you in my prayers though.

Thanks,
Traci S

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Love and Prayers. I hope the pain is not too severe as it sure sounds like it, especially the wrist.
Love and Blessings,
Sandy

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Drugs help with the pain as does just keeping it up at night and a few times during the day. I am hoping that it is better because it didn't wake me up last night for the first time since Thursday. Mainly though I just don't want to have another surgery on it so I am really being good and praying that it is healing fine and is just the swollen tissues that he also wants it to be.

Thanks all of you for your concern. I had no idea I had this many friends on here and it sure feels good to know that. :-)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I missed this til now Lani. I hope you are behaving and resting that wrist!! Behave now so you can play outside later. LOL
