Hardiness Zones

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

Hello Dave: For those of us who have as yet not memorized the Zone Map, could you add a link to it onto the home page?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Good idea. One in the menu bar of the PDB would be nice, too ;o)

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

Hear, hear.
I second that, too.

Essex, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

One for europe?

Rosalia,

I don't make the hardiness zones, the USDA does. If Europe has their own zone map, I'd love to publish it - just let me know where it is.

dave

All done - I added zones to the PDB and added the link from the menu.

Also, added the Zones link to the DG Network box over here at DG.

Here are a couple for Europe but I don't know who makes the maps

It looks like these are copyrighted. The nice thing about the USDA zone map is that it is public domain (sort of) and can be reproduced.

I can't add a EU zone map unless it is freely redistributable. Do you know of such a one?

dave

I don't think we have anything like that

:( That's what I thought, and that was my conclusion a few years ago. This is why we only have the USDA map. It's really too bad, since DG has quite a diverse international audience.

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Wow... the first European one even shows Finland!

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

Thanks, Dave, we needed that.

And thank YOU Ulrich for the good suggestion!
