Very nice Dave.....it's the little things that make a page work just right. I like the new arrangement. "Reads" much better.
Flip Version of PDB Images
I'm glad you like it; I like it, too. :) Having the thumbs on the left seemed to make better sense.
Actually, I'd rather have them directly above or below the picture in question, but on entries where there are 50+ images that's not really an option. So, to the left we go. :)
I really like it too- I dont have to push the back button as much now! And it makes comparisons easier too.
and I also really enjoy the fun random picture. I've learned so much just by clicking on the ones that catch my attention.
Any chance of having say the first 5 images or so on the "front page" and the rest accessible via a link? ("click here for more images of this plant"...)
Terry, I think it's probably time that we go ahead and implement that. The full pictures can always be available from the picture slideshow page but leave the "go" page a little more clean.
The crepe myrtle entry (pid 1) is a classic example of picture overload. I'll get that changed.

:o) happy dance here - woohoo!
The job is done but it'll take a while for all the plants to get caught up (caching all the pages). It could take a few days, actually, but one by one they'll get caught up. :)
Dave
That's wonderful news - thanks!!!!
I've written a script to do just the ones that have more than 7 pictures, and I'll run it tomorrow (would run it tonight, but the server is very busy serving a story on the LXer.com website...)
Anyway... tomorrow they should be all setup. I think it makes a big difference! Check out pid 1 to see it in action (I already updated the cache on that one) http://plantsdatabase.com/go/1/

Dave- I saw a couple of PDB entries that said something like "105 photos in total...click here to see them all". When I clicked on this one:
http://plantsdatabase.com/showpicture/38769/
It doesn't take me to all the pics...only the first one. Maybe that's what you meant about caching the pages? Thought I'd better post it just in case that wasn't what you meant.
Here's another one like that:
http://plantsdatabase.com/showpicture/38768/
These are new entries to the PDB that appeared on the PDB home page...maybe that has something to do with it??

Very odd. Something has messed up in the caching system . I'm taking a look now.
dave
I found and fixed the problem - thanks! If you see any others that are broken, please let me know!
