We have these and whenever I hear them it sounds like a drop of water. When we first moved down to Alabama I thought the neighbors had a dripping spigot or something until I figured out it was a bird. Sometimes they just make the drop of water sound alone.

During the day this sound is normal.....
when the cat starts chirping you'll know the cat got him!!LOL
They immitate all kinds of stuff. My grandma knew one which could mimick the telephone's ring perfectly!
Their songs are different from their cries of alarm; if you hear one singing, it's probably not out of alarm.
ahh now GW why did ya have to go and say that?!! LOL I was finally satisfied with the cat upsetting the bird and making him sing at all hours of the night!! Now I'm back to square one I guess. LOL Just kiddin
