I don't know where this should go, but, I have super glue on the ends of 2 fingers and I can't get it off. Anyone know what to do? I tried Comet cleanser and hair spray and lotions. No luck.
Removing Super glue?
The only way I got it off my fingers (which I managed to stick together) was by sitting with my hand in a mug of warm water for several hours
have you tried fingernail polish remover yet? Another one would be googone but I havent tried that one so dont know if it would work or not.
fingernail polish remover works great as long as you can use it on the spot-it fades wood! Not good for eyelashes either!!
My oldest son glued the next oldest sons eyelashes together-it was horrible his long beautiful lashes --they all fell out!!!!!!
They grew back but i could have choked him!!!
The things they did while i was working! Thats why i decided to be a stay at home mommy.
Oh and they closed lined him while he was three wheeling-left a nice rope burn across his neck!!
Oh My and you still have hair? Mine woulda been ripped out a long time ago, never mind any gray, no hair no gray.
Goof Off works. It is good for almost anything - paint, varnish, glue, etc... Use it outside if you can. It stinks. And then wash your hands really good. It won't harm your skin, it just smells strong.
Nail polish remover and sandpaper will do it.
It's bothersome but eventually it with fall off. The glue...not your fingers.
yep, it goes away on its own for me too. It's quicker if I'm washing dishes too.
I'm with nail polish remover, are you typing one handed?
Are your fingers glued together, or do you just have a little on each finger?
It was just a little on each finger. I was holding a piece of a lighthouse roof in one hand while I was spreading glue on the broken pieces. Then I held the pieces in place so it could dry a bit and one finger was stuck on the roof but was able to get it loose from it but there was still more glue on the finger that didn't come off. Then I discovered the other finger had glue and the red paint from the roof!
I soaked it for a while in hot water trying to scratch it off. Some of it did, but there are still a few traces. I'll have to get some nail polish remover or some of that other stuff to keep on hand. thanks for the help! Not Martha, that is hilarious!!!! GW, The mere thought of them stuck together and then trying to drive to Walmart for nail polish remover!!!!!
LOL! Good,I am glad it is not worse,I was at work and glued a pair of glasses that had broke,I put them on too soon, and glued my eyebrow to them,I paniced and yanked,I still do not have hair in that spot!Best to laugh at our sillyness.
OUCH OUCH OUCH
This reminds me of the episode of either "While You Were Out" or "Trading Spaces" when one of the carpenters managed to Superglue her fingers together.
Ironically, doctors do use Superglue to mend the cracks the extreme cold brings on in arctic places. I read that in Reader's Digest in the book excerpt they published from the doctor who had to administer chemo to herself while serving in a remote arctic outpost.
rootdoctor, that's the funniest thing I ever heard!!! I'm really sorry but I got a visual on that one and it's something I would've done....
I had an experience once - the darn top wouldn't come off the tube. So bright as I am, I tried to open it with my teeth - guess what IT OPENED! It squirted all over my front teeth and lips! No, my mouth wasn't glued shut, but it took days of careful peeling and scraping to get it all off. Now I use pliers.
Azalea, that is exactly the kind of thing I would do. Hopefully, I'll remember your post next time I can't get the top off!
Definitely nail polish remover to get it off your fingers. Super glue is used quite extensively in surgery now-a-days, especially eye surgery. I put in on paper cuts and DH's cracks in his fingers in the winter. They heal so much faster and don't hurt anymore - a big plus!! (I confess to being a cuticle biter and use glue on some that tear too deep...)
kooger thats what I do when DH comes home with a big slice on his hands, hes a mechanic and sometimes he gets too carried away with getting the job done. A little super glue, hold the cut together and viola, dirt cant get inand it does heal much faster. And yes I do clean the cut before I put the glue on, lol.
It's great stuff if you get it in the right spot!! This story, it was definitely in the wrong spot..... A local man (no names, it's a true story), was caught philandering by his wife. She got revenge by gluing his 'anatomy' to his leg with superglue! He had to go to the hospital to have it all removed!! (the glue...not the 'anatomy'!) They are still married and now retired - this happened about 10 or so years ago. Talk about the 'talk' of the town!!!!!!!!!!!!! She had imagination tho! :)
