Some of you know, we'll be moving - that is when we get around to building the house :)
The only clear area of the acreage - bottom corner is where I was down planting the asparagus since we can't eat it for 2 years.
I finally met our new neighbors :)
Like I said, got to meet the new neighbors :)
They were all so encouraging to help us get going! Kept telling me over and over again, "moove".
First guy I met was Reg - Reg Holstein that is.
Anyway, all of them were udderly fascinating; just can't wait to visit with them some more and milk them for any inside info they can give me :)
Best kind of neighbors to have, lol..Other than family, it's the only kind we have here..Just the good old outdoors and Mother Nature..
Larkie
That's really super!
You'll get to enjoy them without having to take care of them!
Now that's my kind of cattle farming.
Judith
Fresh fertilizer on the hoof! Isn't it grand? And such lovely neighbors at that. At least the barking dog won't bother you at night or during the daytime either.
LOLOL Dea
The asparagus sounds yummy! One of the first items on my list for the new garden too :)
What beautiful surroundings you have there!
Thanks, but your new place is just spectacular :)
Thanks Dea. I'm just looking forward so much to living in the country and with a garden I can grow trees and shrubs in without the help of a shoehorn LOL
OOOO very nice! Hurry up and mooooooove! I see you are planning ahead, getting the asparagus patch planted already.
I once rented a tiny house surrounded by a lot of land on which the landowner kept cattle. They didn't usually come up near the fence by the house, but one morning I woke up and found a cow staring in the bedroom window at me- she had found a hole in the fence. She seemed really curious about me, as though I was an exhibit at the zoo. What fun it is to live in the country!
Hey, how'd I miss this? What pretty land and bucolic neighbors. Moooove, indeed. :)
yes have you mooooooved?
Not quite :) Gotta get the homestead built first, but it looks like we'll be breaking ground sometime in February/March. Then, we can see a Thanksgiving for next year moooooooooove :)
In the meantime, we're slowly moving plants and trees - luckily, the lot is just a quarter of a mile from where we live now :)
Thanks for asking !!
Hey Dea, do you know Seneca Valley HS? That's where I went to high school? Beautiful land you've got, made me homesick.
Sure do :) And that's funny, cuz I grew up in Indiana and am always homesick for that !!
Where did you live?
when you move you will not be far from where I am
Anne
I lived in Germantown, before that Rockville, before thar Silver Spring, LOL. MoOOved to the country (back then), this was with my parents, in the 70s. When my mom died I finished high school and moved to IL where my grandparents were from.
Meant to ask, where in Indiana? I live right next to NW Indiana: Munster, Shererville, Dyer area. Lots of new construction, esp. in nearby St. John.
