First Picture of Madelynne

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

I remember this story, dont know if its true or not..

A woman and her children went into a Taco Bell for lunch, everyone got thier food and the baby did to, he was breastfed, discreetly, there was no big show..
An older woman comes over to her and tells her that it is disgusting that she is doing that in public and she should go into the restroom to feed the baby like that...

The mother looks up at her, smiles sweetly and says..

You know maybe your right
why dont come into the bathroom with me so we can discuss it there while you eat your lunch too.

I don't recall anyone ever saying anything to me but I always used a receiving blanket as a cover-up. I do remember going to my DH's uncle's funeral and a cousin nursed her baby during the service about 3 rows from the front of the church. This is a ultra-conservative church, similar to Mennonite with black veils instead of white baskets, back in the late 70's and the subject is still mentioned at some family gatherings today! Not something I would do, for sure!!!

It's funny how with the first one, you're so worried someone will see, but by the time you get to the last one, you don't care. I always used a receiving blanket too, and went to a quiet area for my own peace of mind....

I had one of those frenzied feeders... My daughter! When she was old enough to try to raise my shirt to 'help herself' it was time to cut her off! I think she was 14 months old. :-)

The boys only breastfed for 6-8 weeks.

Everyone are different common some do comfortable some don't so one thing if happen the baby grab blanket or fall on the floor like UH OH see the breast. LOL

Yes I use the reciving blanket.. Matt hates to be cover while feeding. He would push the blanket off.. Few days, I almost cut him off cause he kept biting me and I said NO! He giggled! Boy, It was so painful and I almost cried! DH said don't stop nursing him until he's ready to wean... He's going to be 8 months old tomorrow! He realized he's more healthy and less sick while breastfed even my first experience.. I wish I had done with my other two kids.

Thanks to Badseed that told me about breastfeed and other thing.. I am so glad I did.

Oh, she is beautiful, Badseed! I'm in awe, like everyone else, at how good you look so soon after!! You make it look so easy that I might just try it someday myself! (NOT! *Giggle ~ snort ~ guffaw!* I'm with Kim ~ dogs and cats and horses and chickens and cows will do nicely as babies for me!) Congratulations! She is just SO gorgeous!

So when was the baby born? What time of day or night?
She must have been born near my birthday the third of April. Watch out for those Aries!
I was just wondering if you had given birth yet. Congratulations! It must be nice to be able to nurse your babies.

HeeHee! Only 26 pictures? I can't believe it. My father-in-law would disparage one hour photo places all the time until our son was born, 19 years ago in June. Then, he went right from my hospital bedside to the one hour photo place with his rolls of film. Same when my daughter was born but he hasn't bad mouthed them since that day. Into digital now, though. Beautiful baby!

You all are too kind. :) She is a very good baby and only cries every too hours-feeding time! LOL I posted somewhere when she was born and thought it was on here. It must have been on another post. She was born really near your birthday Windy, about the time you were having your birthday coffee this year. LOL

LOL Badseed - I think that's how you write 3rd April in the US. Here in the UK we read that as 4th March *g*

Long little lady - she's going to be above average height :)

WOW! Born on my birthday. I was born in the evening at 7:15. I know because my son and I were just having a telephone conversation this past week.
He said his birth certifcate says I was born in 1949! Now I know I am old, but adding another year to my life is uncalled for. So I checked my birth certificate and it says 1950, the correct date.
He insisted that I was born in '49! Sheesh, who you gonna believe a piece of paper or your own mother! LOL

LOL Philomel. I forgot people abroad write the date *backwards*. LOL (Surely it is not us that do that!) Yes, she was born the 3rd of April. ;)

The pediatricians we go to think the girls will all be between 5'8" and 5'11". All have been born in the average size range but then quickly jumped to the 95th percentile and stay there until they are weaned at about 18 months. Madelynne was my first baby born in the morning. All the others were between 4pm and 1am.

She went for her first check up Saturday, officially one week. She is already 9.1. Good for her, but growing too fast for me.

My son was 22.5" when he was born (a long time ago LOL - he was 34 on the 10th April). He's now 6' 5"!
My daughter was 21.5" and is now 5' 10"

That's interesting that all the others were born in the evening. I wonder when the most popular time of day to be born is... Mine were 8.10pm and 10.30pm, but lots of my friends seemed to have them in the morning.

Wow, 9.1 already! So pleased she's doing so well (all that yummy milk *g*). Often they seem to lose some before gaining.

Franklin, LA(Zone 9b)

my son was 21 1/2 inches at birth
and 8lbs 7ozs...he was born around 1:30am (cant remember exactly right now.. i'll have to go check)
he'll be a year old tomorrow and he's almost 3 feet tall now and he weighs between 25 and 30lbs
lol :)

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

Morgan is easy to remember. 00:07 am. I was so happy to have that fireplug delivered that I did not care what time it was. He was 9 lbs 8ozs 21 1/2 in and like the new darling, never lost an ounce. 12 lb at 2 wks. He is skinny as a rail now. Fiona was 11:20am, just in time for lunch-that's my girl! She was my little baby at 8lbs 12 ozs and 22 in. She is 11 and 5'6" already.

Sweet infant, Madelynne Rose,
from the top of her head
to the tips of her sweet baby toes.
She is a wondrous bundle of sheer delight
who arrived by day instead of by night.
She has five older sisters to show her the ropes
and to share with her their dreams and hopes.
The world has become a brighter place
now blessed with Madelynne's sweet little face.

Tilton, NH(Zone 4a)

Congratulations, Michele!
Seeing madelynne's beautiful face almost makes me want to have another one!
