Should I cut down the (what apprears to be dead) branches of my hydrangeas in the spring or just leave? It looks like there is new growth coming up from the ground. When should I add some acid to the soil? Thanks.
hydrangeas
Not yet. Some hydrangeas need to be pruned, but as I learned the hard way a few years ago, it pays to wait until they break dormancy, and know whether yours should be pruned after blooming, or in early spring (mine went for two years without blooming after I cut the entire thing to the ground, thinking it was deadwood.)
